Show Notes

Following the FED lowering of the fund rate, the real estate world was buzzing. Well, rates have continued to fluctuate, and buyers, for the most part, have remained on the sidelines. We won't see the results of dropping rates until next month when we see closing numbers, but right now the market is kind of stagnant. So today, we talked about Brad's upcoming trip to Cabo San Lucas and Brian's recent cruise to the southern Caribbean. Today's episode is less "meaty" and more fun. Grab a drink (perhaps one with a little umbrella in it) and join us for some fun. Cheers!

[00:00:00] Speaker A: Brad. Hey, Brian. [00:00:02] Speaker B: Welcome back. [00:00:03] Speaker A: I didn't go. I didn't go anywhere. Yeah, I've been here the whole time. [00:00:05] Speaker B: Well, hey, welcome back to all of you. Real estate makes us drink. Another fabulous episode coming your way with the big hat. Brian Quinlan from Daniels Real Estate, Brad. [00:00:16] Speaker A: Nickam from Nest Mortgage Group. [00:00:18] Speaker B: You're looking fitter and fitter every time I see you. [00:00:22] Speaker A: I appreciate that. Yeah, I was running behind your cruise ship almost caught you a couple times. [00:00:29] Speaker B: So close. [00:00:30] Speaker A: Yeah, a lot of running. Lots of running. I ran four miles today. [00:00:35] Speaker B: Well, God bless you. And you're headed to Cabo soon, which we're going to get into. But will there be running in Cabo every day? [00:00:43] Speaker A: In fact, one day we have to run three hours. [00:00:46] Speaker B: All right, well, on that note, let's go. Cheers, buddy. [00:00:50] Speaker A: Welcome back. [00:00:51] Speaker B: Hey. Again, I'm gonna keep saying welcome as if all I was. Or you were the one who was going. [00:00:56] Speaker A: I stayed here. I was here the whole time. What are you drinking? [00:00:59] Speaker B: We went local. Sun King Brewery today. The Osiris Kale Ale. You know, I've had this before. It's decent on the show. I'm not on the show. I have just consumed it before. Just like you have consumed tequila before. [00:01:17] Speaker A: Yeah, but sometimes I do one that I've never had on the show. [00:01:20] Speaker B: Right. [00:01:21] Speaker A: More often now, they're showing up at my house. [00:01:26] Speaker B: And again, we may probably get into that, too. But your tequila show is going quite well. [00:01:31] Speaker A: Yeah, it's fun. It's fun. It's hard to figure out when to do it. Like, I. I don't know how you do all your social media that you do and do the real estate that you do at the same time. [00:01:43] Speaker B: We. I think that's a really good thing to get into. But which tequila are you drinking today? [00:01:47] Speaker A: Well, not this one right now. I just have a nice arete blanco in there. 3 ounces of tequila, 2 ounces of pineapple juice, 2 ounces of coconut water, and ice. [00:02:00] Speaker B: All right. [00:02:00] Speaker A: I needed to hydrate. So if I'm going to hydrate, I drink coconut water and I do it while drinking tequila while I'm dehydrating. So I'm dehydrating while I hydrate. [00:02:12] Speaker B: Feel like it's just. You break even. [00:02:15] Speaker A: It's a. This is a. A hydration, neutral beverage. I just thought of that. That's pretty good. [00:02:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Is there a name for this drink? [00:02:25] Speaker A: Yum. [00:02:26] Speaker B: No, no. Hydration Neutral. [00:02:28] Speaker A: Hydration Neutral. That's a great name. Yeah, that's. No, I. I seen a. A reel and a Guy took a full pineapple, cored it, pulled it out. Right. So now he just has the pineapple shell. [00:02:44] Speaker B: Okay. [00:02:45] Speaker A: And then he took Tajin and brown sugar and he rolled it in that. Then he shoved it back into the pineapple in the. In the hole, the cord that came out. He filled that full of Siempri reposado tequila, put it on the grill and baked it for 30 minutes. [00:03:05] Speaker B: Wow. [00:03:07] Speaker A: Then pulled it out and cut up the pineapple, put it in it, mashed it with, muddled it. Right. And then added coconut water, tequila. And then they ate the pineapple while they drank that drink. And he didn't have a name for it, so I skipped the hard part. I came out and down there on the floor, there's a case of canned pineapple juice. [00:03:28] Speaker B: Okay. [00:03:28] Speaker A: And I always have coconut water in the fridge. He took a coconut and a screwdriver and put two holes in the coconut and. [00:03:34] Speaker B: Okay. [00:03:34] Speaker A: Poured it in there and made this great drink. So I thought that seems refreshing. So I had it last night and I. I did that stupid run today, so I was thirsty. [00:03:43] Speaker B: So stupid. [00:03:45] Speaker A: There you have it. [00:03:47] Speaker B: All right, well, the history of the hydration neutral. [00:03:51] Speaker A: Hydration neutral drink. That's fantastic. I wish it was calorie neutral. [00:03:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Wow. That's why you keep running. [00:03:58] Speaker A: Maybe if I added celery. [00:04:01] Speaker B: Definitely would take away some calories. [00:04:04] Speaker A: Would that really? I don't think it would. I. There'd have to be a lot of celery. [00:04:08] Speaker B: My sister in law, when offered celery, she will answer with, are you trying to kill me? She said it actually, you could. You use up more calories chewing and eating the celery than the celery exit provides to you. [00:04:21] Speaker A: Yes. [00:04:22] Speaker B: So it's a negative calorie food. [00:04:23] Speaker A: So. So yeah, just throw some salad. It take probably a lot of celery. Is the pineapple juice. It's 50, 51 calories per 2 ounce shot of tequila. Okay. So, yeah, I'm just gonna keep running. [00:04:39] Speaker B: All right, so tequila talk with Brad. [00:04:44] Speaker A: Tasting tequila with Brad. It's close enough. [00:04:46] Speaker B: Close enough. It's just. [00:04:49] Speaker A: It's just like the Southside, you know, with Brent Quinlan. [00:04:55] Speaker B: That's right. Yeah, nailed that one too. [00:04:57] Speaker A: It's nailed it. [00:04:58] Speaker B: So, yeah, yeah, you're. You're doing great on the Facebook. [00:05:01] Speaker A: Yeah, Facebook and Instagram grown like to 100 followers. And I really wasn't doing Instagram, so I didn't think that one was important. And then I found out it is, so I turned on an Instagram and I think I'm at, like, 98 as of today. So that's like a couple. Couple, couple weeks. Yeah. [00:05:19] Speaker B: YouTube's going a little slow. And if you're watching this, you're probably seeing it on YouTube. So go over there after the show, head over to tasting tequila with Brad and subscribe. Let's check that out. [00:05:30] Speaker A: The views are way up, though. [00:05:32] Speaker B: Yeah, that's good. [00:05:32] Speaker A: I'm always shocked at how many hours. The one thing that I get is people aren't trailing off the video loyalty. They're watching, like, the whole video, so. But I told you, the Bourbon Pour, which is a really cool YouTube show. Brian Terrell is a friend of mine, and I always forget his partner's name. I don't. I've never met him. They had like 500 subscribers, and I'm putting out some good content for a couple of years. And they had. I called him and said, hey, what are you doing to get to the numbers that you're at? And he goes, oh, we're riding a viral video. I'm like, well, you know, you had like five or 600. And he's like, oh, no, we're at 11,000. And they did a video at Maker's Mark, and it's just a video of the girl dipping the bottles in the wax. And while she's doing it, she looks over at the camera and then she looks back. [00:06:22] Speaker B: And I showed the video to my wife, and she doesn't even, like, look like she's pleased as she looks at the camera. [00:06:29] Speaker A: She is. She is neutral. [00:06:30] Speaker B: Oh, absolutely. Like, when you were telling me about it before I saw it, I'm thinking, is it like some hot woman that's doing this? No, no, she's, you know, regular Jane dipping bottles into the wax. Turns, looks at the camera, looks back. It's about five to seven seconds. And it has millions. [00:06:52] Speaker A: The last I look was 15 million views, and they're currently up to over 15,000 subscribers. [00:06:58] Speaker B: Well, good for them. [00:06:59] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, it's exciting. And, you know, they've been doing the bourbon thing for a while. They've got a lot of people that send them bourbon to. To taste and review on their show. So it's pretty. [00:07:09] Speaker B: You got going on. You've had some people sending you tequila? [00:07:12] Speaker A: Yeah, I've had some great tequila, say. And in this very short period of time, I've got to meet some really neat people. And so starting today, we can turn our drinking game back on. That's correct, because we are going back to the town of Tequila. [00:07:31] Speaker B: Yes. So if you're New to the show, the drinking game is when Brad mentions going to Tequila Mexico, you do a shot as well as when I reference back when I was a teacher. That's a shot as well. So play along. [00:07:46] Speaker A: Yeah, you get drunk with that one. And we're doing I think three Days in Tequila, which is a one side of Guadalajara, the lowland, so the valleys. And then we're doing three Days in Arandas, which is the, what they call the Highlands, which is on the other side of Guadalajara. [00:08:05] Speaker B: Do they make tequila there also? [00:08:06] Speaker A: Oh yeah. So there's, you know, you got Lowlands tequila and Highlands tequila. So like, you know, we've talked about Siempra or we talk about Sergio Cruz, right? 14. 14. He's in the Highlands. [00:08:19] Speaker B: Hello, Sergio. Because he actually commented back after when I commented on your post. I. [00:08:25] Speaker A: It's crazy. He comments on so much stuff. He's so involved. He's the master distiller for the Vivanka distillery which makes some of the best tequilas. And yes, we get. We're going to see him and we have a special invitation to go see him. Go see Sergio. I just posted a video that talks about donating money to a program and I don't have the name in front of and I can't say it anyway because it's in Spanish. I say them all wrong. But Christina, who owns Balar Tequila, she worked, she owned Do Goodery, which is a big non for profit after working at Disney. I do too. It's pretty cool. And she's seen that there's families in this little town just outside of Tequila Mexico. Most of the people in the town do something with Atomasio and Velar, which are a distillery outside of town. And they're either farmers or work at the distillery whatever whatever. It's 170 families and they don't have running water. [00:09:28] Speaker B: Can't even fathom that. [00:09:30] Speaker A: I know. I was trying to count all the places that I can get water out of my house. It's like 20 places I can just go get water at any time. And they also, their gray water runs into the streets. So you know, the kids can't play in the streets and you can't play in the streets here. But it's because you get run over by a bulldozer. So what she did is running a business that teaches corporate responsibility. She wanted to show that she could have corporate responsibility. So they put together over the last year this program to. So water gets delivered by truck. They don't have any way to store the water, so they have to use it when it comes. Right. And then that may be three in the morning. So now you're waking up and doing your laundry and dishes at three in the morning and stuff to go to work. So they figured out a way to put a cistern at every single house in this neighborhood and take where the take care of the gray water problem. And the total cost to do that is $100,000. So their goal starting on the 30th of September to was to raise $100,000 in 10 days. And I know it's going great. I don't know what their tally is. Christina sent a really nice message and we are going to Visit her at nom 1590 atomasio and she's going to give us a personal tour where they make the lar cool. And it's neat to see the community of these people are so like intertwined and care so much about the people and the tradition. So I don't know, it's a crazy passion, but mortgages pay the bills. [00:11:00] Speaker B: Tasting tequila with Brad, you can go check out like a three minute video where he talks about that in more detail and gives you the information on how you can donate. So if you're watching and you know, I know they want to do that within 10 days, but I'm sure that if you're watching this after those 10 days, they'll still take the money. [00:11:17] Speaker A: Absolutely. They, they actually have a you shouldn't eat ice right here. [00:11:21] Speaker B: To answer question, are you expecting me to talk longer? [00:11:23] Speaker A: Right. And you stopped. Absolutely. They, they actually have a program that is bringing water and sustainability to multiple towns. They have an equity program to help, you know, bring more income to the workers and the farmers. It's a, a whole ngo. It's very impressive. [00:11:43] Speaker B: All right, so that's an upcoming vacation. You also are going to Cabo here in the next couple of days. [00:11:48] Speaker A: We do, Yep. [00:11:49] Speaker B: Which is your annual trip. [00:11:50] Speaker A: Annual trip. [00:11:51] Speaker B: And in connection with Sammy Hagar's birthday celebration. [00:11:56] Speaker A: Correct. Sammy will be 77 years old on October 13th. [00:12:01] Speaker B: Will you be participating in a Sammy Hagar birthday celebration or just down there. [00:12:05] Speaker A: At the same time? So, you know, for years we've gotten tickets to the shows and gone to the shows and over the years the process down there has changed a lot. So the last and Covid, you know, wrecked it all. You couldn't even do shows. You couldn't even walk. You had to walk through this water and then they sprayed this mist on you. [00:12:25] Speaker B: Oh, helpful. [00:12:26] Speaker A: Yeah, Magic mist. It's amazing. So you know that Kind of changed the process. And a lot of the people that are friends of ours that have worked at the cobblewabble for 20 years don't work there anymore. They've retired or left or. So the kind of whole thing changed. So the last couple years, we. We walk down and see who's there. But a lot of people sleep on the streets for, like, two days to buy tickets, and I'm not. I can't think of anything I could sleep on the street for. [00:12:53] Speaker B: Right. But while you're there, you will be doing some singing. [00:12:57] Speaker A: Yes. [00:12:58] Speaker B: Do a little show at a. At one of the bars, Sancho's, and raise some money. [00:13:02] Speaker A: We do. Yeah. Me and Wild Bill and I play at Sancho's on Friday. He's a musician from Chicago. He's so freaking cool. We play Sancho's. I think we're playing noon to 5, singing. It's a long day. [00:13:19] Speaker B: Are your fingers sore? [00:13:20] Speaker A: Oh, my fingers are sore. And I was thinking about it. I don't. I can't talk. The next day, my voice is gone. [00:13:25] Speaker B: But it's a blast day of the year for Tony. [00:13:29] Speaker A: A damn good day for you, too. And like, finally, a podcast. Brad shuts his mouth. Gosh, I've been working on saying. But I say that a lot. Like, how many times you have to edit out of the video? [00:13:41] Speaker B: I don't. I do a lot. [00:13:43] Speaker A: I cut them all out. It's crazy. So we'll. We'll raise money for a children's foundation. And I. I always forget the name of it, but it's. It's an orphanage. And then also goes to help local. The local community and a lot of the children. And last year we raised. I think it was 26 or 28, 000 pesos. It's like 20 $100. But that's really good at a bar. [00:14:05] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:14:06] Speaker A: In Mexico and people chucking money into a pot. So it's. It's a lot of fun. I really look forward to it. I hate traveling with a guitar, but it's fun once you get there. [00:14:16] Speaker B: Any friends going with you? [00:14:18] Speaker A: Yeah, actually. So you've met Andy and Tammy Sparks. They're going to Cabo with us. We went in January and they loved it so much they're going again that it goes right back to the Sammy Hagar saying, if you come here once, you'll be here twice. [00:14:29] Speaker B: Okay. [00:14:30] Speaker A: And dan and Jamie McKinney, which went with us on the last trip, too. They are on their way to Cabo with us as well. [00:14:37] Speaker B: Awesome. [00:14:37] Speaker A: And then there's always tons of friends that come in from Oregon and Seattle and Michigan and all over the country. [00:14:45] Speaker B: Awesome. [00:14:46] Speaker A: Yeah, should be a good time. Are you going to Cabo with us? [00:14:49] Speaker B: Not this time. [00:14:50] Speaker A: I see it from a cruise. That invite's been dangling out there. [00:14:52] Speaker B: It has for a couple years like. [00:14:54] Speaker A: A worm on a hook. [00:14:55] Speaker B: I know. And we often do vacation in October. So this year we're going to Vegas because I'm doing a. A conference out there as well as a visit with my daughter. [00:15:07] Speaker A: Sure. [00:15:08] Speaker B: And gonna see some friends we met on our recent cruise. And we have. My sister and her husband are going and then my neighbors are gonna meet us out there. It's gonna be a whole thing. [00:15:18] Speaker A: Wow. When you're doing that? [00:15:19] Speaker B: That is middle of October, so two weeks. [00:15:21] Speaker A: Oh, fantastic. So when I get back, you're leaving? [00:15:26] Speaker B: Yeah, pretty much. [00:15:28] Speaker A: Is this enough videos to get us through that? Okay, good. It's a good thing he schedules all this because I like. What day are we doing actually when you get back? [00:15:35] Speaker B: We're going to record another one before I leave. [00:15:37] Speaker A: Okay, good. There you go. [00:15:39] Speaker B: Will be all caught up. [00:15:40] Speaker A: So this trip you just got back from, you slung around what, the south side of the Caribbean? Is that right? Yeah. Go. [00:15:48] Speaker B: So a lot of people ask if we were affected by Hurricane Helene when we were down there. And no, because we were in a completely separate part. We started in Fort Lauderdale, so opposite side Florida, but that was days before the hurricane came through. And then we traveled past Cuba and down the, like I said, the eastern side and wound up almost at South America. Went to Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. [00:16:12] Speaker A: Wow. [00:16:14] Speaker B: And while we were in, I think Curacao was when the hurricane hit the western side of Florida. And by the time we got back, there was no worries in. In our end of Florida. So fortunate because obviously that was a big, very big deal and pretty awful. And for us it was a great week of vacation. [00:16:34] Speaker A: That's fantastic. There's a lot of people not vacationing during that hurricane. [00:16:39] Speaker B: And it was the longest cruise that we've ever been on. It was an eight day cruise, I believe. And we had two days at sea, then three straight days at islands and then two days at sea coming home. And the first island we were at was Aruba. And we had, again, I don't know if I said this already, three islands we have never been to, which is kind of what drew me to the cruise. And we were in Aruba until 10:30 at night. [00:17:02] Speaker A: Wow. [00:17:03] Speaker B: I've never had a stay on a cruise ship. Or at an island where we were there the entirety of the day. You just like, dinner time, you're hopping back on the ship and moving on to the next spot. So it was. It was cool. And, you know, I've been to lots of islands. This was our 12 cruise together. And the majority of them are the same. Same stuff to do at each port and, you know, some of them, depending on what your excursion is going to be, you know, you might see more of the island or whatever, but it's really, you know, a lot of the same. But we did some fun stuff. Did some snorkeling in Bonaire, and the water there was super clear. [00:17:36] Speaker A: I think there's some fantastic pictures of you snorkeling up there. Yeah. And I was hoping you'd wear that mask today. [00:17:45] Speaker B: You know, it's funny, I posted on Facebook after that how great that mask was. And then a friend of mine messaged me specifically. She goes, just so you know, so we're back from our mini break here. So she contacted me and said, just so you know, I've seen some people who are having issues with CO2 poisoning with those masks because it covers your whole face and you just keep breathing in and out of the mask itself. [00:18:09] Speaker A: I was like, all right, well, we'll. [00:18:11] Speaker B: Take breaks every now and then and make sure I'm breathing some real air. [00:18:13] Speaker A: You didn't get dizzy or anything? [00:18:15] Speaker B: No, we didn't have any problem with it. So twas good. [00:18:18] Speaker A: And Curacao, how was that? [00:18:19] Speaker B: Curacao. [00:18:20] Speaker A: We. [00:18:20] Speaker B: We did a. An excursion where we were walked in from the beach, were given a. Yeah, right. Walked in from the beach, given a 70 pound tank that comes down over head and shoulders. And then we walked along the bottom of the ocean down to about 18ft or so. And our guide was down there with us taking video and photos at the same time because they wouldn't have to bring my own camera. And they were shaking fish food in front of us while these little colorful fish just swarmed in front of you. My wife loved that. [00:18:51] Speaker A: You guys are brave. [00:18:52] Speaker B: I was like, I the fish. Yeah, you don't need to shake that by me. We're good. [00:18:57] Speaker A: I'll wander into Guadalajara by myself, but I'm not going under the water. Well, it's. [00:19:02] Speaker B: It's a small bay, so, you know, Jen, of course, one of the questions was, we have to worry about any large marine life that come. And they said, now they don't come this close. So I just got to believe that. [00:19:13] Speaker A: I like naturally breathing. [00:19:15] Speaker B: It was. It was Interesting. We were down there for 40, 45 minutes, something like that. [00:19:19] Speaker A: Wow. [00:19:20] Speaker B: Yeah. It's super loud in the tank and water is like up to your neck, but there's enough pressure in the tank to keep the water down and you don't drown. [00:19:32] Speaker A: Yeah, just. I can go on record that. I will never do that. [00:19:36] Speaker B: It's funny. I think one of the. [00:19:37] Speaker A: It's got to be beautiful, though. [00:19:38] Speaker B: It was. Yeah, it was really cool. One of the ladies who came out, she goes, I'm kind of claustrophobic, and I really had no problem with this. And one of the ladies who was on the trip with us said, I'm kind of claustrophobic too. They said, oh, you'll be fine. And nobody had an issue. [00:19:50] Speaker A: I'd be the one going, just running. I got motion sickness doing snorkeling one time, so I can't even think of it. That's crazy. [00:20:01] Speaker B: So if I were to invite you on a cruise, you're not coming. We were just staying on the ship. [00:20:05] Speaker A: No, I'm not even gonna go on a cruise. I already told you that. [00:20:08] Speaker B: This was one of celebrity. First time we ever went on celebrity cruises. It was one of their newest ships, large ship, but not one of those, like, Royal Caribbean that has an amusement park or water slides or anything. There were kids on the ship, but I would say not a kids ship. [00:20:24] Speaker A: Gotcha. [00:20:24] Speaker B: We heard some negative things about the kids area, and if they're not in the kids area, there's nothing else for them to do. So I was not impressed by that. But everything else I loved. And in reference to where this started, I don't think I felt the ship move maybe more than once or twice the entire time. So I don't know. I mean, the water was kind of calm, so I guess that helps. But, yeah, still. [00:20:47] Speaker A: Yeah, I get. I get motion sick. So no one else said they could feel anything moving. And I was motion sick with a patch. Oh, man. And then I like extreme connectivity to the world. [00:20:59] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Wow. And you know me. There were some social media posts from the ocean, but I was limited on WI FI access, and so I. I went pretty easy. I just took videos and pictures that I could post later. [00:21:12] Speaker A: Yeah, we look at where we're going to go on vacation, and then sometimes I say, no, I can't. My phone won't work there. I can't work. [00:21:20] Speaker B: So you'd be carrying starlink with you everywhere? [00:21:22] Speaker A: I would, yeah. I've tried to figure out how to take it to Mexico, but I don't have the Mexican plan so it wouldn't work. This. Those satellites are in Spanish. [00:21:31] Speaker B: One of the things that we didn't do much of on the ship was shots. But we could do that right now. [00:21:37] Speaker A: We can. What do you want to do a shot of? Did you decide something? [00:21:39] Speaker B: I did. [00:21:40] Speaker A: Is it way up there on top? [00:21:41] Speaker B: Yeah. I was going to go Bardstown today. [00:21:43] Speaker A: I love it when you make it a circus show. It's going to be excellent. Actually, this is been aged in Founders barrels, so. Founders Beer barrels. So they aged it in those. Okay. [00:21:58] Speaker B: Why did it say KBS on the back? [00:22:01] Speaker A: I don't know. Okay. [00:22:03] Speaker B: I bought it like this, so it's kind of B.S. [00:22:09] Speaker A: Could be big. I don't know. It's good, though. [00:22:15] Speaker B: All right, well, cheers. [00:22:16] Speaker A: We're drinking out of the wrong glasses. We have a bourbon expert here, and we're drinking out of a shot glass. [00:22:23] Speaker B: All part of the experience. [00:22:25] Speaker A: And she's gonna pull some glasses out that are very much like these. But we'll probably talk about that a whole lot more in our next show. Look at that. There's glasses appearing. Look at there. Just a little bit bigger than a tequila one. Awesome. Thank you. [00:22:45] Speaker B: Oh, all right. Well, this wouldn't be a real estate show without talking a little bit of real estate. [00:22:52] Speaker A: True that. [00:22:53] Speaker B: One thing that you had mentioned to me was interest rates have been all over the place. [00:22:57] Speaker A: Yes. [00:22:58] Speaker B: So without. And we've already had this previous conversation, you said, don't want to get too political, which I dislike getting political. So we're going to avoid that. But generally, what's been happening with interest rates in the world of interest rates were falling, Brad. Aren't they down now? [00:23:16] Speaker A: I love getting political, but I won't. Yeah. So the federal fund, you know, did get dropped a half more than what was expected, which kind of shook the market up a little bit because it's a big move. It's only happened four times in history. I think we talked about that on. Yeah, we did video already. So the market didn't like that. And then previous episodes. [00:23:34] Speaker B: Please go watch that. [00:23:35] Speaker A: Yeah, there's a whole explanation on there. So that that's kind of, you know, shook the market up a little bit. Then on top of that, the stock market really liked the fact that we took such a big, big cut. So we've had a big run up in the stock market. We've closed, you know, two times above a record in the last 10 days. But now that's kind of come down too, because we have two countries launching rockets at each other at Night. And you know, it's really kind of scary when you think about the global position we're in. And then on top of that we have a giant port worker strike. Strike. And that, you know, that's going to disrupt, you know, all of the products that come from other countries into America on the East Coast. Something to keep in mind though, when you're running out of this stuff that you buy, there aren't any American products sitting in that port. So you might want to buy American as much as you can. Yeah, let's buy some stuff that's made here. Although we don't make much here anymore. But you know, so that, that's gonna have a big impact. It's gonna have an impact on, you know, Christmas shopping quite honestly. There's gonna be a lot of products that come in, you know, now that get to the shelves in a few months. If you think about that process that it takes a long time to get that on the shelf of your local Walmart. Food. There's a lot of food that comes in, fruits and vegetables that are gonna rot on those boats if it takes too long. And who knows how long it's gonna take for that to change. And it's already impacted the barrel price of oil. So you're gonna see your gas prices go up as well. [00:25:04] Speaker B: Well, damn. [00:25:06] Speaker A: And that affects inflation. And inflation affects what? Interest rates? [00:25:11] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it does. [00:25:12] Speaker A: So. [00:25:12] Speaker B: So we're not Talking about a 50 point drop again with the next Fed meeting. [00:25:19] Speaker A: Actually he's Fed chair. Powell has been very open that we're going to have two more cuts, two more meetings, November, December, and there should be a 25 basis point cut. [00:25:28] Speaker B: So nothing expected in October. [00:25:30] Speaker A: There's no meeting. [00:25:31] Speaker B: Okay. [00:25:31] Speaker A: Yeah. September, November, December. Nope, nope. No emergency cut. They did that. The 50 is already a shocker. Yeah, I'll be surprised if they still do two more. But keep in mind not, not directly connected to 30 year fixed interest rates. Right. Bed fund rate could drop to zero and race could go to 12. It's not connected. [00:25:49] Speaker B: You talked about that before. [00:25:51] Speaker A: You can watch probably all of the other shows. Kids come up several, lots of times. What about selling houses? I know that you weren't showing homes because you can't do that from a cruise ship. [00:26:01] Speaker B: I can't do that. But I, I do want to throw a shout out to my man James, who one of my colleagues who helped me out with. I have several different deals that are nearing closing and he had to deal with an inspection response and trying to set up a closing and a Lender that. Anyway. [00:26:17] Speaker A: Was it me? [00:26:18] Speaker B: Was not you. That I was not thrilled with. But either way, he was huge for me, which I really appreciate. So, you know, things are, I don't know, right now for me, a little slow. [00:26:31] Speaker A: Weirdly slow. [00:26:32] Speaker B: Yeah. Yep. So hopefully that will pick up. And I'm not entirely sure what the rationalization is because there was so much excitement about the rate drop that I really thought I was going to kind of go bonkers. [00:26:43] Speaker A: And hurricane has not. I think it was a hurricane. I mean, what else can I blame it on? [00:26:49] Speaker B: We had a huge, huge storms here. Nothing like hurricane weather, but where it came from. But that does affect people, I suppose. You had to cut down a huge giant tree in your backyard. [00:27:01] Speaker A: Thank goodness I cut it down before, though. It had been in the barn here. We'd have been filming from the tree. [00:27:07] Speaker B: That would be fun. [00:27:08] Speaker A: No, it would not have. And I think you mentioned the other day it's time to remodel. [00:27:13] Speaker B: Yes. [00:27:13] Speaker A: It's not. No. [00:27:15] Speaker B: So Brad was recently talking to me about this giant TV behind me, and he says that really was a poor choice, knowing where we're at now with the expansion of this bar. And I said, well, time to remodel. We just need to move the TV to a different location. And it just adds shelves up there. Come on. [00:27:31] Speaker A: He made me cuss. No. Think of the additional tequila real estate I'd have up there, right? Yeah, I think so. [00:27:39] Speaker B: I'm just a matter of fact. [00:27:40] Speaker A: Not happening. [00:27:42] Speaker B: We ought to bring Alex in. He'll help you with the electronics. [00:27:45] Speaker A: Alex already came and saved our lives after our identity was stolen. [00:27:48] Speaker B: Oh, well, sounds like. [00:27:50] Speaker A: Go. Go back to that show and watch that one. That'll help you. [00:27:53] Speaker B: All right, well, let's wrap this up. Have a great time in Cabo. [00:27:58] Speaker A: Thank you, sir. [00:27:59] Speaker B: Look forward to hearing, you know, your response to that. Thank you for watching. We'll see you next time. [00:28:05] Speaker A: Cheers. [00:28:05] Speaker B: Special guest and real estate makes it drink. [00:28:08] Speaker A: Cheers.
