Show Notes

Why do people complain about everything? Brian Quinlan and Brad Niccum dive into the biggest debates happening in Indiana and beyond—from Buc-ee's coming to Greenwood to daylight saving time, summer heat, soccer, AI, aliens, ancient civilizations, and everything in between.

This episode takes a different approach than our usual interviews as Brian and Brad sit down together for an entertaining conversation about the topics that seem to spark the biggest online arguments. They also sample a few unique drinks, discuss why Buc-ee's has people so fired up, debate whether Indiana should be on Central or Eastern Time, laugh about summer versus winter complaints, compare soccer to motocross, and finish with a surprisingly deep conversation about artificial intelligence, UFOs, ancient history, and the future of humanity.

If you've ever found yourself scrolling through social media wondering why people argue about absolutely everything, this episode is for you.

[00:00:02] Speaker A: I gotta play better defense. [00:00:04] Speaker B: Can you even play defense? [00:00:06] Speaker A: I was actually a very good defender. Yes. [00:00:08] Speaker B: Were you a good basketball? I was gonna say podcast defender. I don't even know what that is. [00:00:12] Speaker A: I don't know that that's a thing. [00:00:14] Speaker B: Podcast defense. Well, check the defense. [00:00:18] Speaker A: I always. So many drinks. [00:00:20] Speaker B: Well, this is going to be a unique episode. You know how you get to a unique episode? [00:00:25] Speaker A: You have enough of them. Unique up on it. Oh, dad jokes. That is bad. [00:00:32] Speaker B: So today's show, we're doing something completely different. First of all, I have a guest. It's Brian. And Brian has a guest. It's me. [00:00:39] Speaker A: Oh, wonderful. Thanks for being here. [00:00:42] Speaker B: We are. Thanks for stopping by. [00:00:43] Speaker A: Appreciate. Problem. Appreciate the invitation. [00:00:46] Speaker B: Today we're going to do a podcast. [00:00:48] Speaker A: A show. [00:00:49] Speaker B: We're going to do a show show. [00:00:50] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:00:51] Speaker B: What would Mr. Beast call it? [00:00:53] Speaker A: Show. [00:00:54] Speaker B: A video. Okay. I listen to him on a podcast today. He thinks it's funny when they call them shows. [00:00:58] Speaker A: Oh, all right. [00:00:59] Speaker B: Yeah. We strive for Mr. [00:01:02] Speaker A: Beast level. We got a long way to go. [00:01:05] Speaker B: We're not even at the Mr. Part. [00:01:06] Speaker A: No. [00:01:07] Speaker B: But today we're just gonna talk about things that people about. [00:01:12] Speaker A: Wow. Okay. Because you push just in general. Yeah. [00:01:16] Speaker B: Well, you post a lot of videos on your ticker talker. [00:01:20] Speaker A: I. I go for clickbait, baby. [00:01:21] Speaker B: You do? You like? [00:01:22] Speaker A: I absolutely do. [00:01:23] Speaker B: Like, you put stuff out there that's gonna, you know, BUC EE's is bad, you know, and then I don't. [00:01:28] Speaker A: I don't put that out there. I just put Buc ee's is coming. Right. [00:01:32] Speaker B: And then other Bucky's is bad. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. We're gonna have another gas station. There's so much traffic. [00:01:38] Speaker A: All right, so we're gonna talk about that. Maybe Content, I guess. [00:01:41] Speaker B: Maybe we're gonna talk about the daylight savings time. [00:01:44] Speaker A: O. That's like. That's a topic. [00:01:46] Speaker B: People are like, I hate daylight. Save me some. We're going to take it away. God damn them. Am I right? [00:01:53] Speaker A: When we get to that, I have a little interesting history about that. [00:01:56] Speaker B: Yeah. And. And we're gonna have a couple of drinks. We're gonna have three or four or five. [00:02:02] Speaker A: So it's a drinking episode. It's gonna be a call for a ride home. Possibly. [00:02:06] Speaker B: You might have to stay up in Blake's old room. All right, so first of all, I. I want to share with you a mezcal. [00:02:13] Speaker A: All right. [00:02:14] Speaker B: And what's your first thought when you think of Mezcal? [00:02:16] Speaker A: Smokey. [00:02:17] Speaker B: Smokey. [00:02:18] Speaker A: And I. And I know very Little about, you know, Mezcals, But I do know smokey is a thing. [00:02:23] Speaker B: Smokey is a thing. And we're gonna drink them in a [00:02:30] Speaker A: vacuum. [00:02:30] Speaker B: In a vacuum. No, we're gonna drink them. [00:02:33] Speaker A: Ouch. Oh. [00:02:34] Speaker B: We're gonna drink them in. In a villa 318 capita. These are specially made. These are little mezcal cups. [00:02:43] Speaker A: That is fancy. [00:02:44] Speaker B: And so now what you want to do is you want to smell this first. Just with the old schnoz, we know [00:02:52] Speaker A: it's going to go well. [00:02:54] Speaker B: You smell any smoke? [00:02:56] Speaker A: No. [00:02:57] Speaker B: None. [00:02:57] Speaker A: None. [00:02:58] Speaker B: What did you smell? Because you can't say tequila. [00:03:01] Speaker A: You're not gonna like what I. [00:03:03] Speaker B: What do you smell? I know, I want to know. [00:03:05] Speaker A: Plastic. [00:03:06] Speaker B: You smell plastic. Okay. [00:03:07] Speaker A: Yes. That is what it smells like to me. [00:03:09] Speaker B: Huh. Okay. [00:03:10] Speaker A: I, I, I, I, I appreciate your candor. [00:03:15] Speaker B: Oh, your depth of pallet. [00:03:17] Speaker A: It's so deep. [00:03:18] Speaker B: Yeah. Like. So this, this, this mezcal is made in Sen. Sen, which is a different place than Oaxaca. [00:03:30] Speaker A: Right? [00:03:30] Speaker B: So it is. It's at 4,000ft elevation. [00:03:33] Speaker A: That's, that's hot. [00:03:34] Speaker B: And instead of cooking the agaves in an oven in the ground with fire, they're doing it like they do tequila in a steamed horna, like a steam oven. And then crushing it with tona and then stainless steel. Fermentation without fibers. All the things that you think tequila. It's done the way they do tequila. But this plant is the green giant. The, the. Pronounce that plant for me, Brian. Sit right there. [00:03:57] Speaker A: Freaking read it. Agave. Salmiana. [00:04:01] Speaker B: Salmiana. That's right. It takes 25 years for the plant to grow. 25 years. [00:04:07] Speaker A: That's longer than agave right there. [00:04:08] Speaker B: Yeah. So go ahead and taste away. This is gonna be great. I'm sure you're loving this. [00:04:23] Speaker A: Not a fan. [00:04:24] Speaker B: No. Because you know why? You know why? You don't like it? [00:04:27] Speaker A: The end of it is. [00:04:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Spicy. [00:04:29] Speaker A: No, seriously, is this plastic? [00:04:33] Speaker B: No, it's very gin. Like lots of botanical flavors. [00:04:37] Speaker A: I'm gonna tell you, that's. That's an issue I have. [00:04:40] Speaker B: I know. [00:04:40] Speaker A: I do not like gin. [00:04:41] Speaker B: I don't either, so. But I'm so blown away by how this is different than a Mezcal. [00:04:48] Speaker A: Okay. So I wouldn't know. [00:04:50] Speaker B: People are going to about the smoke now. They're going to about it tasting like gin or plastic. Plastic. So there you. That's the first, first drink I'd say. [00:04:59] Speaker A: Thanks for sharing. [00:05:01] Speaker B: I guess you didn't like that. [00:05:02] Speaker A: I mean, sorry to the company that created it. Nothing against them. No, it's because this is. [00:05:08] Speaker B: This is one that people really do enjoy. [00:05:10] Speaker A: All right. [00:05:11] Speaker B: They really like this. [00:05:12] Speaker A: So good for all of them. Set up straighter. I'm a about posture. This is my radio. I had a radio personality phone call to you yesterday. [00:05:24] Speaker B: You did? So tell everybody what you did today. I want to see what things that people may. About. About what you did today. [00:05:32] Speaker A: Oh, well, let's see. [00:05:35] Speaker B: Did you golf? [00:05:36] Speaker A: No. [00:05:36] Speaker B: Okay. Golf seems normal. [00:05:39] Speaker A: No, no. I honestly did my normal real estate stuff. Stuff, you know, emails and some social media. Because today I put a new house. Ticker talkers Put a new house. No, no, no. Ticky talks today. Put a new house on the market today. So posted that. Pended a house that I got assigned contract on last night. So dealt with that. What's that mean? Pinned at a house means that a con. Purchase agreement was accepted. [00:06:08] Speaker B: So was this on the house through the open house side? [00:06:10] Speaker A: Yes. [00:06:10] Speaker B: Was it from any of the people that we. [00:06:12] Speaker A: It was not about that. Yeah, they. [00:06:14] Speaker B: They all. We thought we had two people buy. [00:06:15] Speaker A: I know they all just kind of faded, but you're actually the original person who had made a contingent offer, came through, fixed all that, and came through with an offer yesterday. So had to deal with that. Little social media, you know, goes along with that as well. Then I showed a house, which is my listing. [00:06:32] Speaker B: Okay. [00:06:33] Speaker A: To a client who I literally have just met, and they were hanging outside that condo yesterday and wanted to see it. And like. Like vagrants, they had seen it online perhaps, and they went to look because they want to see the outside. So they. Because it's very nice of the landscape, but they didn't have an agent. So they called me on the sign and said, hey, can we get inside? I'm like, well, I can't just come and open the door. I got to check with the homeowners and. [00:06:59] Speaker B: Right. Yeah. [00:07:00] Speaker A: They couldn't do this. So we did it today. Showed them condo and went home, made dinner, stopped at McAllister's for free tea day, baby. [00:07:08] Speaker B: Free tea day. [00:07:09] Speaker A: And here I am. So. [00:07:11] Speaker B: So that's why you're a little jazzed from the tea. [00:07:13] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:07:15] Speaker B: So did you have big TE's? [00:07:17] Speaker A: They only have one size for their TE. [00:07:19] Speaker B: I bet people about that. [00:07:20] Speaker A: It's probably about. It's probably like a 24 ounces. Okay. Like that. All right. Something to about there. [00:07:27] Speaker B: Just this. The one size of tea. Like if you went in there and went to medium, then you only get a large, and then you pour it out and you think, you know, There are people in China dying of thirst. [00:07:39] Speaker A: People all over dying of thirst. [00:07:40] Speaker B: But I know why. But me not finishing my tea doesn't help. If I finish my tea, it doesn't help the situation. [00:07:45] Speaker A: It's not getting shipped over there. [00:07:47] Speaker B: Like our kid. Our parents used to say that. Oh, totally, totally. Like, okay, we'll send them to. Send them my leftovers. I don't care. I'm not eating the rest of this asparagus. Notice the microphone torpor today. [00:07:58] Speaker A: I. I like it. [00:07:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I was pretty excited. [00:08:00] Speaker A: I like the mic set up where the mic isn't here in my face. [00:08:02] Speaker B: Yep. And it makes sure you can. People can read our shirts. [00:08:06] Speaker A: Yep. [00:08:07] Speaker B: And our lighting is different today. [00:08:12] Speaker A: Ah, that shirt. [00:08:13] Speaker B: It's one of my favorites. [00:08:15] Speaker A: Hilarious. [00:08:16] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay, you want to try your second joke? [00:08:18] Speaker A: All right. Now. So the question I was asked when I walked in the door was, do I care? Do I like margaritas? And I said, well, you know, I've gotten better with margaritas because I've gotten better with tequila. Then he says, how about a spicy margarita? That answer was certainly not, because Brian does not like spicy stuff. And then he said, I want an espresso martini. No, I don't really care for that either. [00:08:40] Speaker B: What I heard is I'm really adverse to flavor. [00:08:43] Speaker A: Maybe my wife, she'd be all over this espresso martini, though. So I was like, I'll. I'll go with the espresso martini. So we got my field of dreams whiskey glass from Drew Storm, everybody. [00:08:54] Speaker B: Before you open that. Shake it really well. Are you serious? It's okay. I did not. For you. This is what's called a white box. And these are little single serve cocktails that you can buy at the store. [00:09:12] Speaker A: That's tiny. Well, it's a. It's. It's the size cocktail you get at the restaurant. I understand. [00:09:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:09:17] Speaker A: But just, you know, full strength seems like a mini. [00:09:21] Speaker B: And they. [00:09:22] Speaker A: They're. [00:09:22] Speaker B: They're tasty little boogers. [00:09:24] Speaker A: Tasty boogers. Well, that sounds delightful. [00:09:27] Speaker B: You got to get it to. You want to get it to actually focus, which means you have to hide your face. [00:09:32] Speaker A: See that? [00:09:32] Speaker B: Ooh, yeah. [00:09:33] Speaker A: Look at that. [00:09:34] Speaker B: Did you see how we got foggy in the. Is it foggy? [00:09:37] Speaker A: No, Blurred. [00:09:39] Speaker B: Blurred. But when you do this, could you use the effect fog and make it foggy? [00:09:43] Speaker A: That's weird. For something. Or with me. [00:09:46] Speaker B: No, I don't have one of those. I. I don't like espresso. I do. I love espresso. Mar. [00:09:51] Speaker A: I'm just kidding. Stop saying the X. There's no X in the word espresso. Espresso. You want to talk about things, people about that. Yeah. [00:09:58] Speaker B: I hear so many friends of mine complain about people's grammar. [00:10:03] Speaker A: I'm your grammar guy. [00:10:04] Speaker B: You are the grammar guy. [00:10:06] Speaker A: Yep. You're welcome. That better than the first one? [00:10:08] Speaker B: What do you think of that? That's. It's for an espresso martini. That's pretty good. [00:10:15] Speaker A: Well, it's our shortest episode ever, everybody, because I'm out of here. What do you got there? [00:10:21] Speaker B: I am gonna pour this brand new bottle of Acri Lago tequila. And this is their brand new high proof. So this is going to be at 50 ABV or 100 proof. [00:10:33] Speaker A: Okay. [00:10:34] Speaker B: I got this sent to me by Seth and Zach, the owners. [00:10:38] Speaker A: Hi, guys. [00:10:38] Speaker B: They also own Oddball Shoes. [00:10:41] Speaker A: Nice. [00:10:42] Speaker B: Yeah. You got to go to oddball shoes.com and check it out. [00:10:45] Speaker A: I feel like I do. [00:10:46] Speaker B: They're both. [00:10:47] Speaker A: We get a discount. [00:10:48] Speaker B: Absolutely. I. I guarantee you all that. I'll get you a code that Oddball shoes. These guys are both big guys. [00:10:56] Speaker A: Tall. Six. [00:10:58] Speaker B: Six. [00:10:59] Speaker A: Five. [00:10:59] Speaker B: Six. Six. [00:11:00] Speaker A: Anything that starts with a six is tall to you. [00:11:04] Speaker B: Will you tell me something? 65 isn't tall. [00:11:07] Speaker A: I'm six foot to you. I'm tall. [00:11:09] Speaker B: Well, you're tall, but 65 is a lot taller than you. [00:11:12] Speaker A: I'm aware. I'm saying you couldn't figure out a number. I say anything with a six to you is tall. [00:11:16] Speaker B: If you're both in the men's locker room naked, and you walk into the room, they're going to notice those bigger guys over you. [00:11:21] Speaker A: Men's. Where we're bigger. [00:11:25] Speaker B: So their shoes were so big. How big were they? That they couldn't find any in the store. Oh. So they created odd. They created Oddball Shoes. So they make shoes for people who are tall. And they've made shoes for, like, all kinds of professional basketball players and clowns. [00:11:44] Speaker A: Big shoes. Yep. [00:11:45] Speaker B: I don't think. [00:11:46] Speaker A: Do they make them for regular size? I don't like you. [00:11:48] Speaker B: No, not at all. For real? They're only big shoes. I don't know. [00:11:53] Speaker A: West coast be big enough? I don't know. [00:11:55] Speaker B: Probably not. They're probably. Do you get your shoes in a normal store? Yeah. Yeah. You don't. You don't qualify. [00:12:00] Speaker A: Darn it. [00:12:01] Speaker B: But they may have some for you. So they were always in Leon, Mexico, which is a place known for leather and shoes, and they're always drinking tequila and they decided, gosh, we should put a bottle of tequila in every box of shoes. We sell kinda. And so that brought us acri lago. [00:12:20] Speaker A: Okay. [00:12:21] Speaker B: Which you would probably say Acre. [00:12:23] Speaker A: No, it would be Acre largo. [00:12:24] Speaker B: Okay. [00:12:25] Speaker A: Knowing that it's tequila. I understand, you know, Spanishness of it. Yeah. [00:12:30] Speaker B: So there you go. That's the. That's what I'm having tonight. [00:12:33] Speaker A: Well, okay. And good tequila. [00:12:36] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. This tequila is delicious. But I haven't had the hyper. This is brand new. This is this a fresh. Fresh crack. Okay, so let's. Let's talk about the Bucky's thing. I want to talk about Bucky's first because I think that people in Greenwood are just looking for something to complain about personally. That's my opinion. I. If they want to build a mount at my exit and Mount Comfort, I'd welcome the. [00:13:06] Speaker A: I'm sure that there is a particular part of the population that complains just to complain. [00:13:13] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. The people that buy a house and then that an airport is nearby. And then they're mad that there's planes. [00:13:19] Speaker A: Right. Yeah, that and, you know, those of us who have been to BUC EE's. I don't think I've ever been to a BUC EE's that wasn't busy. [00:13:30] Speaker B: I've never been stuck in traffic at a busy bucky's. [00:13:32] Speaker A: Also. Correct. [00:13:34] Speaker B: So I never drove across the interstate to go past a school when I went to a Bucky's. [00:13:39] Speaker A: Well, so, you know, perhaps the overwhelming thought from people who are against Buc EE's has to do with the increase in the amount of cars that are [00:13:49] Speaker B: going through that on the other side of the highway. [00:13:52] Speaker A: Well, I mean, there is stuff over there. Not a lot right now, I'll be honest. I actually just drove by it with. [00:13:57] Speaker B: Excuse me. [00:13:57] Speaker A: Just drove by with my wife the other day and pointed out where it was going to be. And I mean, there's nothing on that southeast corner where they want to put it. [00:14:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Here's what comes to mind is there's room for a Buc EE's. [00:14:08] Speaker A: There is. The northeast corner has a brand new Greenwood baseball park with, oh man, eight or 12 baseball and softball fields. There's a cricket field out there. It's a happening place. [00:14:21] Speaker B: That seems like that would bring a lot more traffic. [00:14:24] Speaker A: I'm sure it does because that's on the northwest corner of the intersection. And truly right next to it sharing a parking lot really is Clark Pleasant Middle school. [00:14:35] Speaker B: And that's on the other side. [00:14:37] Speaker A: That's next to the baseball field. [00:14:38] Speaker B: Oh, so all that's on the other side. [00:14:40] Speaker A: All that is on the northwest. [00:14:41] Speaker B: Okay. That's not even near the Buckley. Other side of the interstate. [00:14:44] Speaker A: So I saw a blurb online from the principal of the school who said, you know, in the morning and then in the evening, before and after school, with evening, afternoon, you know, there's a huge line of cars, which. That. That's a. In and of itself. The bus is free. Y' all pay for it. Put the kids on the bus. I understand that doesn't work for some parents, and I understand they have the reservations about it, but they're there. You don't have to wait in a line to pick up your kids after school. [00:15:16] Speaker B: You know, all the things that, you know that I have wrong with me. I rode the bus. Maybe that's why. [00:15:23] Speaker A: Maybe so. And the way that they designed that overpass is one of those, like, Michigan overpasses. I thought it was a diverging diamond. Honestly, I don't. [00:15:37] Speaker B: You go. You could be right other side. Like a Michigan is a Michigan. Left. [00:15:40] Speaker A: Okay. [00:15:40] Speaker B: You have to go. You. You have it. [00:15:42] Speaker A: Okay. [00:15:42] Speaker B: That's one where you go on the wrong side of the road, right? Yes, I believe. Correct. It's called a diverging diamond. [00:15:46] Speaker A: And that's supposed to be more efficient. [00:15:48] Speaker B: It's very. [00:15:49] Speaker A: Wouldn't have done it. Yeah. [00:15:49] Speaker B: You don't have to cross people. [00:15:50] Speaker A: Right. Um, so I don't know. [00:15:53] Speaker B: I mean, people down there bitched about that intersection when we drove by it [00:15:57] Speaker A: on Sunday and then came back in the evening on Sunday. There wasn't any traffic there, but it was a Sunday. So I don't know what it's like during busy school hours and whatnot, but that's the big complaint down there. My take is, number one, I really like Buc EE's. Number two, from what I can tell, Buc EE's is a really good company. Number three, they pay really well. Like, their low level employees are making, I think, a minimum 21 to $22 an hour. And managers are making six figures to be the manager of a. Even like assistant manager, making close to six figures. So. And they employ a lot of people. [00:16:39] Speaker B: They do. So, you know, I'm going to give a fair example. Go for it. So based on where this store is going to go and based on where the school is and knowing that area very well. But removing an interstate, okay, Because I don't have an interstate. Between these two examples I'm going to use. [00:17:00] Speaker A: Okay. [00:17:00] Speaker B: But I'm going to use 146th Street. North of 146th street is a place that we all love called Deer Creek. Not really called that anymore, but no, no, it's not either. Oh, make me say a mortgage company. And then on the other side of 146th street, there's a little place called Hamilton Town Mall. [00:17:22] Speaker A: Yep. [00:17:23] Speaker B: And when there's a concert going on at Deer Creek. [00:17:26] Speaker A: Yep. [00:17:26] Speaker B: And there's 18,000 people heading to the same place at the same time. I still can pull into the mall, no problem. So if 18,000 people diverged onto BUC EE's to get gas and some beaver nuts all at the same time, the little chillin should still be able to get into the school on the other side of the freeway. [00:17:47] Speaker A: I don't disagree. [00:17:48] Speaker B: Yeah, so again, we rubber stamped that one. It's just things people want to about. [00:17:53] Speaker A: There is talk of another Buckies that could potentially be coming to Whitestown. Yeah. [00:17:58] Speaker B: Which I think is. Oh, I thought it was white Lynn. [00:18:00] Speaker A: No. [00:18:00] Speaker B: Oh no. Whitestown. [00:18:04] Speaker A: Yeah, Whitestown Zionsville. [00:18:05] Speaker B: That. [00:18:05] Speaker A: That area. And personally I think that's a phenomenal location for it as well. And that's a super busy area up there. What, 865. [00:18:15] Speaker B: And yeah, they're gonna go north a little bit north of 116th in between the brand new exit. But there's also a new gas station up there that isn't a Buc EE's. It's like. It's not a beaver. It's like a moose. [00:18:29] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [00:18:30] Speaker B: That's northern Wallace. No, maybe Wallace. Yeah, Wawa and Wallace. [00:18:35] Speaker A: I think it's Wallace. [00:18:35] Speaker B: Or is Wallies from that one show vacation show there. [00:18:39] Speaker A: I really think there's a place called Wally's. [00:18:41] Speaker B: It may be. Yeah. I mean because like fact check us, it's Bucky's beaver nuts and Wally's balls. [00:18:47] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:18:48] Speaker B: Some Wally's got something, I'm sure, huh? Yeah. [00:18:52] Speaker A: So anyway, and I don't know that the BUC EE's potentially going to Whitestown has anything to do with the one in Greenwood. Because I really think they're talking about [00:19:01] Speaker B: two same company though. [00:19:02] Speaker A: Well, they still put both locations. I don't think that. [00:19:05] Speaker B: Yeah, they're not competing for each other. [00:19:08] Speaker A: Right. So. Yeah. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see where that goes. You know, there was a lot of opposition to it, but of course they're always the loudest voices at the town meetings when they have them. [00:19:18] Speaker B: Yeah, I. I watched some of the town meeting thing that they had and I like the fact that you are allowed to be four because we went to one here in Hancock county and they only let the person that's doing the development speak and then the opposition. So if I lived across the street and I said I think that parking lot is fine, they're like, that's not what this forum is for. It's only for people who are against it. [00:19:44] Speaker A: But this one, they allowed the people who were, who were for it to speak to. [00:19:48] Speaker B: Yeah, that one they did. Okay, well, yeah, they told me I couldn't speak because I was for it. [00:19:52] Speaker A: Okay, well either way, so I didn't [00:19:54] Speaker B: go to any more meetings. [00:19:55] Speaker A: It, you know, a lot of opposition at the meeting I've seen and because it's what I follow, you know, I see a lot of opposition in local newspaper, some social media, but it ended up passing to move forward. Still not 100% but definitely a step closer regardless of the opposition. [00:20:13] Speaker B: So here's what we're going to look for in the comments from you guys. If BUC EE's came to your town, are you a yay or a nay? Just put that in the comments and we may pick a comment that, that wins and mail you a couple of stickers. [00:20:26] Speaker A: Woo. Maybe I, I, I'll say this. [00:20:31] Speaker B: If we ever get Indiana Success Happy hour T shirts, we'll send you one. You can go on the list and we promise to give you a free shirt when we get merch. [00:20:41] Speaker A: There we go. [00:20:42] Speaker B: Yeah. So there you speech thing. So the other thing that I want to ask you about is something that I think the opposition to this is who brought it up? That's what I think the main thing is. [00:20:57] Speaker A: Okay. [00:20:58] Speaker B: The person that's for this is why so many people are against it. [00:21:02] Speaker A: Okay. [00:21:02] Speaker B: And that's going to be just leaving us on daylight, Daylight saving time. [00:21:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:12] Speaker B: Thoughts on that? [00:21:14] Speaker A: Why are people against you're you're referring to the fact that the president is, is in favor of it and that's why automatically some people are against it because of kind of a Trump proposed idea. [00:21:26] Speaker B: Right. I think that he could say tomorrow we're going to have free health care, free college and free food and there'd be people that be like, well that's going to ruin the system. [00:21:38] Speaker A: I agree. So I, there was another post I put out. [00:21:42] Speaker B: I seen it. [00:21:43] Speaker A: That's what, that's what drove this water. [00:21:45] Speaker B: People appreciate it. [00:21:46] Speaker A: So my, I will say first of all, my video was less about, at least in my head it was, I, yeah, I know. It was less about whether or not we should go to daylight savings time. It was more about should Indiana be on Central time or Eastern time. And because those in My opinion, who, who complain about staying on daylight savings time. A lot of it has to, well, some of it has to do with the fact that it's not dark till 10pm and there are those, especially with younger children who 10pm still light outside. That's an issue. [00:22:23] Speaker B: I'm going to, I'm going to throw 2 cents in here. I think most people bitch about falling back than they do about springing forward. Like I never hear people say, you know, they're mad that we're springing forward. It's always the falling back that they're angry about. Yes, I lost an hour. [00:22:40] Speaker A: I'll say yes. No, no, no, you have it wrong. [00:22:42] Speaker B: Oh, gained an hour. [00:22:43] Speaker A: Yeah, the springing, springing forward in the spring is where people complain because you lose an hour's sleep but you gain more daylight. So okay, there's two sides. [00:22:51] Speaker B: I think you're right because I. About the opposite. Yeah. [00:22:53] Speaker A: Because in the fall we fall back. [00:22:55] Speaker B: I hate falling back. [00:22:56] Speaker A: So you get an extra hour to sleep, but then it starts to get darker earlier and earlier. And then people inevitably in the winter time are like, why is it dark at 4:30? [00:23:04] Speaker B: This sucks, doesn't it? [00:23:06] Speaker A: It's not great. I'm not gonna lie. [00:23:08] Speaker B: Yeah. So, okay, so go ahead. [00:23:11] Speaker A: You know, complaints for people. I saw a graphic which I had on that video which said that in December, if we stay with daylight savings time and eastern time, we will not have sunrise until I think it said 9:06am okay. And for people again who have school age children, they're waiting at the bus stop in the dark. [00:23:31] Speaker B: That they're already waiting at the bus stop in the dark. [00:23:34] Speaker A: I thought that it's going to be [00:23:35] Speaker B: dark at 8 o' clock and I [00:23:36] Speaker A: know it comes at 7, so I know. [00:23:38] Speaker B: So it's still dark. So we're not fixing that problem. [00:23:41] Speaker A: That problem remains. Totally agree. So again, my bigger issue is I feel we should be on central time. And I know that you had posted something that business runs on eastern time. It does. [00:23:54] Speaker B: So we all wake up. I mean people in California wake up and work on Eastern time. Like we work on Eastern time. The markets are on Eastern time. Not everybody's job. Like if you're a teacher, you're a policeman or whatever, you don't have to do that. But the businesses that have to deal with the coast have to wake up and work on Eastern time. And really [00:24:15] Speaker A: my, my opinion was I feel we're closer to Chicago than we are to New York. [00:24:22] Speaker B: If it doesn't happen, we're closer to Ohio than we are Chicago. [00:24:26] Speaker A: I, I know, I don't know. And maybe it's because I grew up in Illinois. It just seemed more logical. And for those who want to complain or about the fact that it's still light at 10 o', clock, well, if we were an hour earlier, because we're in central time, then it's, you know, getting dark at 9 o'. Clock. So kind of fixes that. So I don't know. What I didn't see in all the information that I have seen is, well, first of all, the House passed it. It still has to go to the Senate and Trump wants it. So if the Senate pass. [00:24:57] Speaker B: They're not going to pass it. [00:24:58] Speaker A: If the Senate passes it, then Trump would most assuredly sign it. One would think. And so the question in my thought is, okay, well, when does it go into effect? Is it one of those we have to wait, we have to go through another. No, it'll be standard time when law [00:25:15] Speaker B: school went to effect. So January 1st or July 1st. [00:25:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:18] Speaker B: Okay. [00:25:18] Speaker A: So essentially we're going to have another time change in November and then what do we there? [00:25:25] Speaker B: No, we have to switch back in July. So I don't know January, who knows? [00:25:31] Speaker A: Interesting thing I read this morning this is not the first time that this has ever been debated by our U.S. government. And they actually changed it. [00:25:40] Speaker B: Okay. [00:25:41] Speaker A: Did you know that? I did not, no. In 1973, Richard Nixon, there was a big movement. Right. There was a big push in Congress to make daylight savings time standard everywhere. So Congress overwhelmingly passed it. [00:25:57] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:57] Speaker A: Eighteen months later they took it away because there was too many people complaining about it. Even the Congress people started, started to change their mind and they were like, okay, well, let's go back. [00:26:08] Speaker B: But think about Arizona and Indiana were the only two states that didn't do it. And now Arizona is the only state. I believe I could be wrong. [00:26:16] Speaker A: I believe. [00:26:16] Speaker B: Please put in the comments if I'm wrong. [00:26:18] Speaker A: Alaska might be one. [00:26:19] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:26:20] Speaker A: I don't consider of Alaska. [00:26:21] Speaker B: I don't consider them America too far away. I, I know Arizona doesn't. [00:26:28] Speaker A: I do know that. [00:26:28] Speaker B: And lots of Mexico doesn't anymore. [00:26:32] Speaker A: Oh. [00:26:33] Speaker B: So Mexico quit doing it a few years ago. So now when I go to Guadalajara, I gotta figure out am I two hours behind or three hours right now? Three. [00:26:41] Speaker A: You know, for me, it's really not going to, I don't feel it's really gonna affect my life. [00:26:46] Speaker B: I'm gonna change your golf tea time. [00:26:48] Speaker A: It's not going to change my golf two times. [00:26:50] Speaker B: You could Golf later at night perhaps. [00:26:52] Speaker A: You know, it's still gonna get dark eventually it'll be earlier than 10 o'. Clock. [00:26:55] Speaker B: So I mean, I, I guess I don't ever go, oh my gosh, I can't go to sleep, it's still light out. Or oh my gosh, I have to wake up, it's still dark out. I go to bed when it's dark and I wake up when it's dark. [00:27:07] Speaker A: I can go to sleep when it's light outside. I don't care. [00:27:09] Speaker B: No, but I'm just saying my lifestyle. I go to sleep when it's dark and I wake up when it's dark. Yeah, because it's never awake. It's never bright at six o' clock in the morning. Although this morning it was. Sun was coming out like. [00:27:21] Speaker A: Yeah, how about that? [00:27:24] Speaker B: So, okay, there's. We've conquered two things people about. What's another one? [00:27:30] Speaker A: What's. I'm Brian, your Indianapolis realtor is if you are looking to buy or sell a house in the Indy area, I'm your guy. If you're coming from out of state, want to make a move to the Indy area, I'm your guy. Check out the show notes for a link. We can get in touch and get you started. Thanks for watching. Now back to the show. [00:27:48] Speaker B: We're back. It's shot time and we're going to have some old smokies moonshine. And this one is the Some beach. Some beach. [00:27:58] Speaker A: This is one of my favorites. Really good. [00:28:00] Speaker B: Really good. [00:28:01] Speaker A: We've had it on the show. I actually can't believe Brad's drinking it because it doesn't have tequila. [00:28:05] Speaker B: I'm gonna drink it with you. [00:28:06] Speaker A: I know. I'm surprised. [00:28:07] Speaker B: I can go along. So this, this to me is a real summer drink. And today I think it's around 145 degrees outside. And that's just like summer in your mouth. That is so good. [00:28:22] Speaker A: I don't know why I don't have this at my house. [00:28:24] Speaker B: I don't know why you don't get. This is only available at very select times of the year. And that's a coconutty and yummy yummy. [00:28:34] Speaker A: So good. And surprised it wasn't coagulated because it hadn't been taken out in a while. [00:28:41] Speaker B: Okay, so here's what I was thinking about. Today was hot out. [00:28:45] Speaker A: Yep. [00:28:46] Speaker B: And today and yesterday. Yesterday was a little toasty as well. [00:28:49] Speaker A: And the day before, top off the [00:28:51] Speaker B: Bronco parking in the sun. Seats get a little warm. Oh yeah. And I, I get in that Truck. And I'm just like, yeah, right. So every place I've gone for the last three days, I hear just this. Oh, so hot. Oh, so hot. So I have one canned answer every time I hear somebody say it. I said it three times today. Oh, my gosh, it's so hot. I say, at least it isn't snowing. [00:29:18] Speaker A: Yeah. So I had a lady at the gas station say, that's me the other day, man, I can't say in the winter. So even though it's hot, I'll take it. [00:29:24] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I literally, I. I'm the guy that people could be bursting into flames spontaneously, and I'm like, it ain't snowing. [00:29:30] Speaker A: At least it ain't snowing. I hear you. So. [00:29:32] Speaker B: But those same people that are bitching today that it's too hot just bitch and moan when it's too cold, most likely. So what do you. What's your take on that? [00:29:44] Speaker A: I am with you, That I do not care for the cold at all. So I try not to complain about the heat because I will often say heat doesn't really bother me. So some people will say, well, you know, in the winter time, you know, if I'm cold, I can layer up. But in the summertime, if you get too hot, you can't just, like, take all the clothes off. I guess you could, but, I mean, I. I see a point, I suppose, but I don't. Again, he. I don't promise. I think maybe my canned answer is, well, it is summer, so here's. [00:30:17] Speaker B: Here's what I say. In the winter time, you never come in the house and go, ah, right. [00:30:23] Speaker A: But in the summer, there are times. [00:30:25] Speaker B: No, you go, oh, gosh, it's bloody warm in here. And then you step in your sock steps into some snow that came off [00:30:34] Speaker A: of your boot, and I'm pissed off. [00:30:36] Speaker B: Yeah. There's nothing worse than sock stepping in melted. [00:30:39] Speaker A: Yeah. That is not fun. [00:30:41] Speaker B: But you can come out of the pool, your feet can be on fire on the deck because it hurts so bad, and you're sunburned, and you go in the house, and instantly your brain just goes, wow, that feels so good. [00:30:54] Speaker A: All right, mindset, I get it. [00:30:56] Speaker B: Yeah. You don't have that reverse feel. Good. So in my book, if I. If I had to think of one redeeming quality at winter. Like, if. Let's think. One redeeming quality of winter, just one [00:31:12] Speaker A: may depend on what you're into. Like, if you. If you really like snow and you're a skier. Okay. [00:31:19] Speaker B: Well, because if you really love skier. And you live in Indiana. What, are you gonna have your pops pull you behind your bronco like a redneck? [00:31:26] Speaker A: That's right. Redneck skiing. Okay. It's like a redneck water skin, just almost. [00:31:30] Speaker B: No, well, rednecks just don't use it. So people that go water skiing are rednecks? [00:31:37] Speaker A: No. [00:31:37] Speaker B: Okay. [00:31:37] Speaker A: If you're doing it behind a pickup truck in wintertime, might be a redneck. You might be a redneck. Jeff Foxworthy. [00:31:43] Speaker B: I don't think that qualifies as a redeeming quality, so I'm gonna give winter zero redeeming quality. [00:31:48] Speaker A: Okay. [00:31:49] Speaker B: How about you? Do you have any? [00:31:50] Speaker A: I do not care for winter. Okay. I'm ready to. Ready to move out of this joint. My wife is not. [00:31:56] Speaker B: Yeah, I. You know, I wanted to. [00:31:59] Speaker A: Now I know where you want to go. Where? [00:32:00] Speaker B: Where do you want to go? [00:32:02] Speaker A: To Mexico somewhere. [00:32:02] Speaker B: I do. I think we will probably end up with a house in Puerto Vallarta. Triangle Ventures works. We're. [00:32:08] Speaker A: There we go. [00:32:10] Speaker B: Okay. So what was your sports. [00:32:13] Speaker A: Oh, so have you been watching the World Cup? [00:32:15] Speaker B: I. I have. I. Can I tell you what I've learned about soccer? [00:32:18] Speaker A: Yes. [00:32:19] Speaker B: Boring till it's not. [00:32:22] Speaker A: Okay. I give you that. My. Well, a popular bitch right now has to do with the timing of soccer. The clock just keeps going. And it doesn't matter what happens in the game. If somebody is down on the ground injured and play stops, the clock keeps running. And then you get to the end of regulation. So the first half, 45 minutes, second half, 45 minutes, and then they throw extra time up on the screen. [00:32:50] Speaker B: But so. But it's all because they laid down on the ground. [00:32:52] Speaker A: The clock. It's for several reasons. Okay, the clock is at 45, and then next year to go plus three. [00:32:58] Speaker B: Okay. [00:32:59] Speaker A: So the. The referee on the field is keeping time on a watch and stopping it when there are injuries or arguments or, you know, whatever it might be. And then at the end of the regulated time, they add on the extra time, which is supposedly, you know, how much time was lost for whatever those things were. [00:33:22] Speaker B: But you don't know what it is. But no. [00:33:23] Speaker A: Well, it says plus three. Meaning. Supposed to be three minutes. Exactly. It's like. I mean, you hear the commentators, like, all right, it's three minutes of extra time. We could be down to the last 30 seconds. [00:33:37] Speaker B: No, we don't know. [00:33:39] Speaker A: So that people are bitching about that. [00:33:42] Speaker B: Yeah, they are. [00:33:43] Speaker A: And I've always wondered why that's the case. Like, stop the clock. It's totally possible. And easy to do. There's a. There's a clock operator, so I don't know that I've always had a problem with soccer in that a score of a game could end at 00 after 90 plus minutes of play and everybody walks away like football. It can. It is super rare. [00:34:08] Speaker B: But it still can't. They're still going to allow it. [00:34:11] Speaker A: Let's do this. Is it likely football will end in a tie at 00? [00:34:16] Speaker B: Oh, no, exactly. [00:34:17] Speaker A: Like if it ends it. Actually, I went to a game in Dallas last year. Regulation ended at 40 to 40. Actually, they went overtime. Game ended 40 to 40. [00:34:27] Speaker B: Wait, that's a tie. [00:34:28] Speaker A: That's a hell of a fun tie game. I'd go home from that going well, I mean, my team didn't win, but that was fun. [00:34:33] Speaker B: But that, that goes back to my statement of it's boring till it's not. Because when they get down there and they almost score the goal and there's three or four kicks and that crazy guy saves it with those giant hands. Why do all the. Go have giant hands? [00:34:45] Speaker A: That's why they're the goal. [00:34:46] Speaker B: They look like clowns. [00:34:47] Speaker A: Yeah, that's. That's a good point. And they're. And they're really tall, too. [00:34:51] Speaker B: Yeah, I, I haven't. I'm going to use a. A comparison. Bitch about soccer. [00:34:56] Speaker A: Okay. [00:34:57] Speaker B: But I, I've learned now that the thing is more of strategic [00:35:02] Speaker A: strategy. Strategy, huh? [00:35:03] Speaker B: Strategy that's a throwback to a great southern ally. Siren. I joke. Yeah, absolutely. You do the Alor. Al Gore in one word. I forget what the question was, but. But he said like three words or something, didn't he? [00:35:21] Speaker A: I don't recall what it was actually where they got it from, but I just remember. [00:35:25] Speaker B: I know it was about your campaign. Give me. [00:35:27] Speaker A: Oh, I know. [00:35:28] Speaker B: Give me one word about your campaign. And George Bush said teach. [00:35:32] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:35:33] Speaker B: And Al Gore was like parking meters. It was two words. Whatever. So this weekend, which was last weekend, which, when this comes out the weekend before. Sure. Confusing. [00:35:47] Speaker A: Actually, this will come out on the day the World cup ends. [00:35:49] Speaker B: There was a motocross race in Southwick, Massachusetts, and two Europeans came over to race. And you and I were at a open house and I was watching and I said, dude, this youngster from Europe is winning by 30 seconds. Like, not just beating everybody in America, but he won by 30 seconds. And he also crashed getting close to the end. And he had to throw off his goggles and race the last five laps with no goggles. [00:36:17] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [00:36:17] Speaker B: In a sand track. So your own sand is flying in [00:36:20] Speaker A: the face from your front wheel. [00:36:21] Speaker B: And he won for him the second moto, he was leading by 20 some seconds and he crashed. And he got up still in first place and he finished. And when they pull into the finish, there's a camera guy there and you're going to go sit down and wash your face off and get some water and then you're going to go to the podium. And it's become a thing to camera film that guy that just won getting off his bike and what, you know, what's he look like and what's his reaction? He broke his collar bone. [00:36:51] Speaker A: The winner. Yeah. [00:36:53] Speaker B: And he rode the last four laps [00:36:54] Speaker A: with the broken collarbone and no goggles. [00:36:56] Speaker B: No goggles. Second moto. No goggles in the first. [00:36:59] Speaker A: Sorry. Got it. [00:37:00] Speaker B: So as he's coming in, he leans and like lets go of the bars like he is in agony as he's coming into the pits and he climbs off of his bike. And as, as he's getting his helmet off, he turns to, you know, one of the people on his team and said, I broke my collarbone. And he walks to the chair to sit down and they're bringing him a water and a towel and his face is covered with sand and he says, I broke my collarbone. And they're talking about him going to the podium to do his speech. And the 17 year old starts to cry, he's wincing in pain and he [00:37:33] Speaker A: said, I broke my collarbone. [00:37:36] Speaker B: So put into the little ambulance car, heads out. The message was he went into surgery, collarbone been repaired. And they do believe he will line up this weekend at the race of Europe. [00:37:47] Speaker A: Oh my gosh. [00:37:49] Speaker B: And then you're watching soccer and a guy moves the air next to another guy and that guy flops down on the ground and holds his leg and just screams in pain. Well, on the my sport motocross, he won with a broken collarbone. But I have learned that that whole flop and all that is strategy to let you stop running and breathe and relax because these guys do just run the whole time. Oh yeah. Amazing, amazing athletes. So I, I just find that a really funny comparison. And it is really easy to. About these soccer guys laying on the ground, my, my favorite thing is when they fall down on the ground and grab their leg and they're one of those players that nobody seems to care that it happened. So then they have to get up and jump back into the play really quick because it didn't work. But they give a little bit of [00:38:46] Speaker A: a limp and then they're good. Yeah. [00:38:48] Speaker B: All good. [00:38:49] Speaker A: Or, you know, when the game gets intense. So while I was watching Argentina and [00:38:54] Speaker B: England, that's the part where it's not void. [00:38:56] Speaker A: Right. So England is, you know, trying to score because they're down one and they don't know how much time is left. Well, you know, guy goes for the ball and he falls down, grabs his leg, gets right back up because he can't be hurt. [00:39:09] Speaker B: We gotta keep. There's somewhere between three and 19 minutes left. [00:39:16] Speaker A: I mean, 20 minutes ago he'd have been down for the count. [00:39:19] Speaker B: Now gotta go, Gotta go. [00:39:20] Speaker A: Yep. [00:39:21] Speaker B: Can you give me my foot? [00:39:24] Speaker A: Yeah. That's silly. Well, that. [00:39:26] Speaker B: Those are the things that I have for today. You have a full beer? [00:39:29] Speaker A: I do. [00:39:30] Speaker B: Okay. We got to talk about this beer. What are you drinking? [00:39:32] Speaker A: Harp Lager, courtesy of my friends. A total one. A product of Ireland and made by Guinness. I had no idea that that was a thing. So it's a. It's a lager. It's good. [00:39:43] Speaker B: Well, since you have a full beer, I could pour another beverage. [00:39:46] Speaker A: You could. [00:39:47] Speaker B: And we can talk about more stuff. Let's just see if we can get this show to be two and a half hours long and let's see how many people. Hang on, because at the end of this show, we are going to unlock a secret of the universe. [00:40:03] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [00:40:05] Speaker B: That you're going to want. [00:40:06] Speaker A: I was listening to a fascinating podcast called Diary of a CEO and he interviews some, I mean, world renowned people. Lots of them actually. [00:40:16] Speaker B: Have you been on the show? [00:40:17] Speaker A: No, I'm not world renowned. [00:40:18] Speaker B: I think, yes, I think he should be. [00:40:20] Speaker A: So he was interviewing Neil DeGrasse Tyson and they were talking about do aliens exist? And, you know, the origin of the universe and how big the universe really is and all of this. And it was, it was fascinating information. And Neil DeGrasse is a really smart dude. [00:40:40] Speaker B: Do you think aliens exist? [00:40:42] Speaker A: I don't think there's any way they don't. [00:40:44] Speaker B: Okay, I agree. [00:40:46] Speaker A: And one of his arguments for why we haven't seen that supposedly is because as much as it would take for the. Any country here on earth to create a machine to go far enough out into the universe to potentially meet other life could be the same problem that other life force is anywhere else in the universe. [00:41:11] Speaker B: I disagree. I think they're here. [00:41:13] Speaker A: They very well could be. [00:41:15] Speaker B: We think of the. So that I watched a whole documentary that since some of these files have been released. Right. Since they've. They've turned over the UFO files. Right, right. There's a documentary about a Spaceship that was actually kept at Roswell. And one of the engineers has came forward about how it doesn't use propulsion to move. It levitates. [00:41:42] Speaker A: Okay. [00:41:43] Speaker B: And we have had American pilots learn to pilot that. That actual ship. Do you know about it? [00:41:51] Speaker A: No. [00:41:52] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. You have to watch this documentary. And some of these people have been, like, really bitched about because they're telling what they worked for. For 30 years in silence. [00:42:06] Speaker A: Okay. One of the things that I hadn't really considered that made a whole lot of sense that Neil had said was, okay, let's say that an alien species comes here. Well, number one, what is the likelihood that they are going to come to America? Number one? Well, there. [00:42:25] Speaker B: They're not. There's other countries that have shifts. Other countries, Actually, there's. I forget if it's Korea, South Korea, or if it's Japan, that a shift hit the ground there, and instead of moving it, they built a building around it. [00:42:37] Speaker A: Oh, why not? So, number two, considering how reliant we are on our vehicles, if aliens were to come here, who's to say that they wouldn't think the vehicles are the species and we're just things that are living inside of it? [00:42:54] Speaker B: I believe they are so far more intelligent that they would know. No, they listen. They know. [00:43:01] Speaker A: Okay. [00:43:02] Speaker B: They even speak to each other telepathically. [00:43:04] Speaker A: I really think that there's any explanation somebody can give, and I'd be like, okay, could be. [00:43:09] Speaker B: Okay. So here's. Here's something I've been listening. I've been listening to a few podcasts that have been talking about the fear of A.I. [00:43:15] Speaker A: oh, yeah. [00:43:16] Speaker B: Okay. So there is a theory that A.I. will eventually create a hive mind and that people will become part of this hive life where there'll be a point where we don't even speak, that we will communicate telepathically. [00:43:39] Speaker A: Wow. [00:43:40] Speaker B: And there'll be no procreation because the system will. Will learn to create without procreation. [00:43:47] Speaker A: Huh. Okay. [00:43:50] Speaker B: Do you think that's a thing? [00:43:52] Speaker A: I. I find that less believable than a lot of other things, but. Okay. [00:43:58] Speaker B: Okay. So what if. What if where we are today as a society is actually not as advanced as societies before us? [00:44:14] Speaker A: What do you mean by that? [00:44:16] Speaker B: So there are some theories in India in there. There they have stories from thousands of years ago that talk about weapons that were similar to those of nuclear weapons, similar to, like the drones we have today. Autonomous drones, autonomous planes. And every single religion through history has one thing in common. It's a great flood. Every single one of them. [00:44:48] Speaker A: Okay. [00:44:49] Speaker B: And if you go through these things and you, you learn about all these different religions, which I have, I've only learned for a couple multiple podcasts. So if there are things that are common in this historical story of the world, there must have been something, some truth to it, some truth to something that ended the world at something, some point. [00:45:11] Speaker A: Okay. [00:45:12] Speaker B: When you think about the pyramids, for instance, rocks that are somewhere between 80 and 800 tons that were carved from more than 50 miles from where they are that they've actually scanned and that there's more things below and deeper than the pyramids. Yeah, there's actually they believe. What's the thing that smashes the matter. [00:45:34] Speaker A: What's. [00:45:35] Speaker B: They built one in Bloomington, Indiana. Encyclotron. What is that thing called? [00:45:40] Speaker A: Atom smasher. [00:45:41] Speaker B: Yeah, there's a technical. I know they believe there's one of those underneath a real one more than a mile underneath the pyramids that they've seen from this thing that can see below. Okay, so. So do you think they really built the pyramids with a hammer and a chisel and then somehow they drug a ton, 80 ton rocks, 500 miles and [00:46:03] Speaker A: they built them in 11 years and dragged them up the ramp to get them up? Right. [00:46:08] Speaker B: Did they really bury the sand all the way up as they went? Like what did they use? We couldn't do that with the modern equipment we have today. [00:46:16] Speaker A: Good point. So was there a more how precise they cut those too, with chisels? [00:46:22] Speaker B: Yeah, they used a hammer and a chisel. [00:46:23] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:46:24] Speaker B: So was. Okay, did aliens build it or are we going through. There's like four different cycles or five different cycles of citizen of, of civilizations that then at some point they kill themselves off. So is where we are today just inventing the thing that in a thousand years is going to kill us off and the whole planet's going to start over somewhere. Somebody's going to find a floppy drive [00:46:53] Speaker A: and go and we're advancing civilization. So it doesn't take a thousand years, but it's inevitably going to happen. [00:46:58] Speaker B: But maybe this all happened already. Maybe AI or whatever our version of this is, maybe advanced society. I mean think of the, the Roman Cathedral. But you've been there, right? Roman, is that, is that. What's the big cathedral in Europe? That. No. [00:47:17] Speaker A: Where they had all the Vatican. [00:47:19] Speaker B: No. Where the people would joust and die and the lions. [00:47:22] Speaker A: Oh, the Coliseum. [00:47:23] Speaker B: Coliseum. There you are. Okay, so how big is that Coliseum? [00:47:28] Speaker A: I mean, it's big. It's not minimum, it's big stadiums. [00:47:32] Speaker B: So right but it's not poured concrete. It's hard from. So. Yeah, yeah, for sure. I, I was told that it was built in eight years with hammers and chisels and shovels and mules. Absolutely. You really think so? [00:47:45] Speaker A: Slaves. [00:47:46] Speaker B: Like it takes. [00:47:47] Speaker A: It's less precise than the pyramids are. [00:47:49] Speaker B: Yeah. But it takes us a couple of, like, we're. We've been working for a year on the new stadium that they're going to build in Nashville, Tennessee, and it's not going to be done for a couple of years. And we have cranes and jackhammers and all. [00:48:00] Speaker A: Good points. We also have more distractions than they did. You know, that's a good thing. [00:48:05] Speaker B: I don't have tick tock in this [00:48:07] Speaker A: chisel out there with whatever tools they got. And they, you know how. [00:48:12] Speaker B: Till they pass out how many slaves and hammers and chisels. I mean, think how many shovels they would need, like to build the coliseum by hand. By literally by hand. [00:48:24] Speaker A: All right. [00:48:24] Speaker B: Carved out of marble and stone. [00:48:29] Speaker A: Mostly stone. Anyway. [00:48:31] Speaker B: I, well, like stone. [00:48:33] Speaker A: I can, I can see the justification for what you're saying, and it's hard to argue with. And, And I won't choose to do so. [00:48:41] Speaker B: I mean, so. Hey, Bill, why don't you pick me up on your camel later? [00:48:46] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:48:47] Speaker B: I got my chisel. I mean, how did they make their chisel? I mean, they didn't go down and pick it up at Lowe's. [00:48:54] Speaker A: They did. The chisel makers. [00:48:57] Speaker B: No, which, which I don't know that they could make enough chisels in eight years as a blacksmith with a hammer. And what do they call that thing that the coyote tried to throw on the road? And. Yeah. [00:49:09] Speaker A: So another part that the Neil Degrasse Tyson talked on the show about was. Are we living in a simulation? [00:49:16] Speaker B: I totally believe this is just a simulation. [00:49:19] Speaker A: Could be. [00:49:19] Speaker B: Have you seen a universe? And I think it's a molecule. [00:49:26] Speaker A: Okay. [00:49:27] Speaker B: That if you look at it, it looks identical to the universe. [00:49:31] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:49:32] Speaker B: So this, it's either an atom or a molecule. [00:49:36] Speaker A: One of the two small things. [00:49:37] Speaker B: So this looks like this, but this looks like the universe. And then they say every time you go through a black hole, there's a whole nother universe. [00:49:44] Speaker A: Oh, man. Okay. [00:49:45] Speaker B: So if you go through another black hole and there's another universe, but we might be just a little thing, a molecule living on a little thing that's just another little thing inside another little thing. [00:49:58] Speaker A: Right. I think of there was a movie, Horton Here's a Hoot. And the entire story for Horton Hears a who takes place on, like, an old dandelion that's all white and just blows away. It's one of, like, the strands of that. And the entire world of the movie is in that. [00:50:16] Speaker B: Technically, we could be a piece of dust on the ass of a giant pterodactyl. Could be living in another universe. [00:50:25] Speaker A: Could be. You brought up black holes, another part of the show. Oh, yeah. And so I wish I could remember the host of the show's name, Stephen. Stephen asked, you know, about black holes and what were. What would happen if you were to go into a. [00:50:43] Speaker B: You're going to pop out into a new universe. [00:50:45] Speaker A: He's like, you know, do you just appear in another place? Or everybody goes, well, no. And it's. It's a lot worse than you think. But how does he know it's a science? Everything Neil talks about is scientifically based. So he says that if you were to go in there, you would start to get stretched out. And he goes, for a short time. That would feel great. Be like the best back stretch you've ever had. Then it would pull you apart. And then the parts of you that were pulled apart because now you're in two, well, then that would be stretched out and it would break apart and you would just infinitely break apart into [00:51:23] Speaker B: smaller pieces and you could turn into small atoms that are just universes that we could be living. Boom. [00:51:29] Speaker A: We can. Yeah. [00:51:31] Speaker B: Although, you know, they say to question science, right? Unless it's the COVID shot, then we weren't allowed to question that science at all. We're like, oh, stop questioning speed, baby. [00:51:41] Speaker A: We're going. [00:51:41] Speaker B: Falcho said it's not nice to question. [00:51:43] Speaker A: Question the science. [00:51:45] Speaker B: I think science is supposed to be questioned, though. [00:51:47] Speaker A: Is. [00:51:48] Speaker B: And isn't it like a hypothesis is? My belief is somebody's belief. That's my hypothesis. [00:51:55] Speaker A: Hypothesis is generally based on some sort of, you know, knowledge. I don't think it's just. I thought you were going to say guess. [00:52:02] Speaker B: I thought you were going to say factual data. But then you realize, no, we don't have any facts. That you're going to get stretched when you go through the black. [00:52:09] Speaker A: True. Like, I don't want to be the one to have to give back the information or, you know, I don't want to be the test subject for that one. That's for sure. [00:52:16] Speaker B: Just to the good back stretch part didn't pull me out. [00:52:19] Speaker A: Can I go back? [00:52:22] Speaker B: Wow. I think we touched on a lot of things, man. [00:52:25] Speaker A: We have. I don't think we solved the Mysteries of the world. But man, this was a good one. [00:52:29] Speaker B: No, you know, I do listen to Joe Rogan a lot who a lot of people think he's just a right wing conservative. He's actually not. Yeah, actually he actually sits fair, squarely in the middle. I would agree. And the guests that he has is what I, I really get into these scientists that come on and talking with these things. The, the guy I listen to, I don't know the names of what he said, but it's, it's some kind of book that talks about the, these, you know, one person believes it's 10,000 years, but, but there's nothing that says these. Each cycle is 10,000 years. They could be 24,000 years. And, and they talk about how these cycles of though civilizations and they, there's, there's a book that believes that civilization starts, grows, ends, starts over and that we're in this cycle that would be close to ending in this book. But there's also, when you think back of some of these civilizations we read about not just in some of their books, but also in the Bible. How old was Moses? [00:53:35] Speaker A: 900, 900 years old. [00:53:37] Speaker B: Some of these emperors were emperors for a thousand years. So you know, of course we, as our society goes, no, their clocks are wrong. [00:53:46] Speaker A: Right. [00:53:47] Speaker B: But, but were they, did they figure out a way that they could live a thousand years? And, and then one of the things is that I think how smart you are at, you know, you're what, 59, 51, 53. [00:54:00] Speaker A: 53. [00:54:01] Speaker B: So you're, I was just going on appearance, so 53. So how much smarter are you at 53 than you were at 13? [00:54:11] Speaker A: I would say a whole lot smarter. [00:54:13] Speaker B: How much smarter would you be if you were 300? [00:54:17] Speaker A: I would hope to be a whole lot smarter or a thousand again. [00:54:22] Speaker B: And how far could civilization push itself if we didn't have to start over at 90 years old? Like right now, somebody comes up, think of the advances from 1600 to 1700. [00:54:35] Speaker A: Right. [00:54:35] Speaker B: They're like, sure, we got a wheel, right. And then no, we do, we got a door or cave. You know like the 1700, 1600, 1700. [00:54:44] Speaker A: I don't think your timing is accurate. [00:54:45] Speaker B: Maybe not. But we go, we, we go to 1900 to 2000. We went from horses. [00:54:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:54:53] Speaker B: A combustion engine to face timing someone [00:54:57] Speaker A: on two airplanes, cars to the Internet. I mean larger airplanes, space shuttles flying to the moon, the Internet, smartphones all [00:55:11] Speaker B: just if you believe we went to, [00:55:12] Speaker A: in, in a hundred year Spanish. [00:55:15] Speaker B: So much has progressed and how much has it progressed from 2010 to 2025, seemingly more. Yeah. Like, I. I would think the jump has been what it was in a hundred years, has been intense. So. So as this knowledge grows, what are we going to grow another hundred years in the next five? Now think of where we'd be if the people in 1900 could live to be a thousand years old and we didn't have to learn from somebody who died, that we could learn from someone who's alive and that they had the ability to continue to learn more and invent more. Where would be today if that happened? [00:55:59] Speaker A: I like this. [00:56:01] Speaker B: So what happens if AI helps us learn how to increase lifespan, which already with the medicine. Right. Like, it's not going to forget what Alzheimer's is. It's going to cure. [00:56:16] Speaker A: I hope so. [00:56:17] Speaker B: So if we can get this much smarter, where are we going to be in 50 years versus where we were 50 years ago? I think it's 200 years. [00:56:25] Speaker A: How many episodes are we going to have of this show in 50 years? [00:56:29] Speaker B: You're going to have to put that into our sponsor, Perplexity, to find out. I wish Perplexity was a sponsor. [00:56:35] Speaker A: That'd be nice. [00:56:36] Speaker B: But we got to ask them how to get them to be as possible. We need to put them in complexity. I bet it'll tell us what to do next. [00:56:43] Speaker A: I'm sure it will. [00:56:44] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:45] Speaker A: All right, friend. Well, dude, this was. [00:56:47] Speaker B: This was funner than other episodes. All the episodes they've had taken off the air. [00:56:52] Speaker A: Thank you for watching the show. We'll see you next time on Indiana Success. Happy Hour. Cheers. Cheers.
