Show Notes

IV hydration Greenwood Indiana is booming—so we brought in Scott and Julie Cooper, co-owners of Prime IV Hydration & Wellness in Greenwood, to break down what IV drips actually do and who they’re for. Hosts Brian Quinlan (Daniels Real Estate / Move Me To Indy) and Brad Niccum (Nest Mortgage Group) get the real scoop on everything from hangover relief and migraine support to wellness, vitamin absorption, and why pharmaceutical-grade sourcing matters. We also get into B12 (dirty vs methylated), vitamin D in the winter, NAD and what people use it for, what a typical visit feels like, how long it takes, safety protocols, and how their Greenwood location is structured with a team of RNs. If you’re on the south side of Indy (Center Grove/Greenwood), curious about IV therapy, or just want a fun, slightly unhinged conversation with legit medical insight—this one’s for you. Prime IV Hydration & Wellness (Greenwood): near Smith Valley Rd & SR-135.

[00:00:02] Speaker A: I. I'm full of good questions and. Wow. [00:00:08] Speaker B: Long arm of the law. [00:00:09] Speaker A: Hey, everybody. Welcome to Indiana Success Happy Hour. Brian Quinlan here from Daniels Real Estate and move me to indy on the YouTubes. [00:00:17] Speaker B: Yeah, you are. Brad Nickam, Nest Mortgage Group. And occasionally tasting tequila with Brad, also on the youtubes. [00:00:25] Speaker A: Part of me thinks it's occasionally Mortgage Nest Mortgage and more always on YouTubes. [00:00:31] Speaker B: No, I'm working in the mortgage business more than. [00:00:34] Speaker A: That's correct. [00:00:34] Speaker B: The hobby. [00:00:36] Speaker A: That's right. All right, well, welcome to the show. We have not one, but two guests today. Going to tell us some really cool stuff. So folks, tell. Tell everybody who you are. [00:00:48] Speaker C: Hello, everybody. My name is Scott Cooper. I'm one of the co owners of Prime IV Hydration and Wellness in Greenwood. And this is my lovely wife. [00:00:57] Speaker D: Hello, I'm Julie Cooper with primevy as well. [00:01:01] Speaker A: Fantastic. Not only do they own a company down in Greenwood, they're my neighbors. Yeah, that's pretty awesome. We talked at Trivia night that I host at the local clubhouse and I was like, you know what? They. They run a business I want to know more about. So I thought it'd be good to bring you on the show. So thanks for being here. [00:01:19] Speaker D: No problem. [00:01:19] Speaker C: Thanks for having us. [00:01:20] Speaker A: Oh, you're welcome. What. What are we drinking today, Bradley? [00:01:22] Speaker B: I was gonna say they're waiting for you to move for their property values. [00:01:26] Speaker A: No, it's not true at all. [00:01:29] Speaker B: I'm drinking a little Lost Lore. I got this Lost more shirt in the mail today. My friends Sarah and Arturo. And proud to announce that Lost Lore is now coming to Indiana. [00:01:42] Speaker D: Hey. [00:01:43] Speaker B: No longer something we have to go find somewhere else. One of my absolute favorite brands. Some of the best tequila made by our friend Sergio Cruz. [00:01:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:53] Speaker B: So good stuff. [00:01:54] Speaker A: Lux Bev responsible for bringing that. [00:01:56] Speaker B: Lux Bev is responsible for bringing them to Indiana. And it'll be in bars and restaurants [00:02:01] Speaker C: all over Indiana soon. [00:02:03] Speaker A: All right, well, I have a hybrid today. The beverage is the Sunlight Cream ale from our friends at Sun King. And the glass is from Bad Dad Brewing. So past guests hooking me up with the wares today. [00:02:17] Speaker B: I suppose I thought you was going to say it was an electrified gasoline beer. [00:02:22] Speaker A: It is not. [00:02:23] Speaker B: No, that technically would be a hybrid. [00:02:25] Speaker A: You're right. [00:02:25] Speaker B: But. [00:02:26] Speaker A: But no, I. I checked the fridge at home. There was no beer, so. [00:02:30] Speaker B: And there's always Sun King. [00:02:32] Speaker A: There's always Sun King here on. Thanks, Kevin. And my folks at Sun King and Cooper's not drinking with us. You said you're doing the carnivore thing. [00:02:41] Speaker C: I just Started the Carnivore diet. [00:02:43] Speaker A: Okay. [00:02:44] Speaker C: Like two weeks ago, I'm already down seven pounds. Good for you. Good thing blood pressure is normalizing, so. [00:02:50] Speaker A: All right, yeah, good for you. [00:02:52] Speaker B: Again, we. I. We need to back up a minute. [00:02:54] Speaker A: Okay. [00:02:55] Speaker B: What the hell is this diet? [00:02:57] Speaker A: The Carnivore. [00:02:58] Speaker C: So I was like meat, basically. Meat and like animal products. So in the morning I wake up, I'll eat three hard boiled eggs and either a 10 or 12 ounce steak or a pound of hamburger meat. And then for dinner I'll eat just the opposite. So like, if I had hamburger meat in the morning for breakfast, then in the evening I'll have the steak or vice versa. And that's it. You get so full of protein. So like all the little things in your brain that go, I want a snack, I want a treat or something, you're so full you don't want it and so you quit the nibbling and abiding and eating. [00:03:37] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:03:38] Speaker C: My brother's been doing it for years and he is 56 and he looks better now than when he was in his 20s. So I was like, all right, give it a shot. [00:03:51] Speaker A: Are there side items to what you eat? Like, are you throwing some greens in there? All meat all the time. [00:03:56] Speaker C: Yeah. Fish, chicken. [00:03:59] Speaker B: How many days have you been doing this? [00:04:01] Speaker C: I've been doing it two weeks now. [00:04:02] Speaker B: How many days has it been since you've taken a regular shit? [00:04:04] Speaker D: Oh, [00:04:09] Speaker C: I'm a normal guy, you know, [00:04:13] Speaker B: Psycho. It's the carnival on the Indian scream diet. [00:04:18] Speaker A: Just coming out of straight rocks. [00:04:20] Speaker C: Exactly. Because you're getting enough fats out of the hamburger meat and stuff like that, so. [00:04:26] Speaker A: Well, you know what? To that. [00:04:28] Speaker B: Cheers to that. Yeah, I'm gonna stick to my one meal a day of tequila. [00:04:34] Speaker A: Holy moly. All right, well, Cooper's. So you own an IV joint. Prime iv, yeah. So let's back up a bit. What did you do prior to this gig? [00:04:49] Speaker D: I have been a nurse for a very long time. [00:04:51] Speaker A: Okay. [00:04:52] Speaker D: So our business partner is Dr. Leon Schluter. She is a natural chiropractor on the south side. Holistic chiropractor. And she came to me one day and she was like, we gotta do something. I was like, okay, okay. And so we're doing it. [00:05:07] Speaker A: Oh, all right. [00:05:09] Speaker D: So she invited me to coffee during COVID and nobody wanted to touch a nurse during COVID So I was like, yeah, cool, we're going. So we went. She was like, let's do an IV place. And she vetted all the things, came up with the best plan, and then Prime IV birthed from that. [00:05:25] Speaker A: Fascinating. Yeah. [00:05:26] Speaker D: And then we have our oil field. [00:05:28] Speaker A: Yeah, that's where I was going. [00:05:31] Speaker C: So. Yeah, you're all. So I'm retired from the oil field in West Texas. [00:05:35] Speaker A: I totally see how this translates into iv. [00:05:38] Speaker C: Well, really, you've got the oil flowing through the pipeline. You've got blood throwing through the veins. You can just tap in. Same. Same. [00:05:43] Speaker B: Yeah. But I do see Billy Bob Thornton saying, holistic chiropractor, my ass. Am I right? Am I not? [00:05:56] Speaker D: But you would have his wife say saying, she's totally going down for it. [00:05:59] Speaker B: Oh, I know. And you know she's going down. That's definitely 100. [00:06:04] Speaker A: Nice. [00:06:04] Speaker C: So true. Yep. [00:06:06] Speaker A: So you. You were in the oil industry and transferred into the IV world. [00:06:12] Speaker C: Okay. So kind of drilling. Yeah. I'm from West Texas. 2017. I retired from Phillips 66 pipeline. So here everybody sees Phillips 66 and it's a gas station, right? [00:06:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:23] Speaker B: So. [00:06:23] Speaker C: So I'm on the side before that where we pull the crude oil out of the ground, then it hits pipelines and went to refineries, and then it goes to the gas station. [00:06:32] Speaker A: Okay. [00:06:33] Speaker C: Just like Billy Bob. Nothing like Billy Bob. And so I retired in 2017, and that's when I moved to Indianapolis. Julie and I got married. [00:06:42] Speaker A: Okay. [00:06:43] Speaker C: And then I actually worked at Costco for five years driving a forklift, just cruising around, doing morning merchandise, having fun. That's a great time. And then good night. [00:06:53] Speaker D: It's two and a half years, three years almost. [00:06:56] Speaker C: Yes. Since I retired. Well, didn't retire from Costco, but left [00:06:58] Speaker A: Costco and just focus on the spa now. [00:07:01] Speaker C: I do kind of behind the scenes stuff, social media things. [00:07:04] Speaker A: So, yeah. Social media coordinator. All right. [00:07:07] Speaker B: Yeah. So before we switch into something serious, did you ever meet a real life Landman? No, because I just sat next to one flying home from Guadalajara. [00:07:16] Speaker A: No kidding. [00:07:16] Speaker B: And I said, you know, little small talk, you know, where are you from? Dallas. And he said, really? In a little town called Midland. And. But I'm flying to Dallas for. [00:07:24] Speaker D: Blah, blah, blah. [00:07:25] Speaker B: All right. On. I said, I love the show, Landman. And he laughed and he goes, that's what I do for a living. I scout land. [00:07:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:07:34] Speaker B: To figure out where to drill. And I said, is it the same? And he said, my chicks aren't as hot. But yeah, that's a. [00:07:45] Speaker A: That's. [00:07:47] Speaker B: That is so cool. [00:07:47] Speaker A: I have not yet seen the show, you know, and it really is on my list of things I want to watch. But we have meaning. [00:07:54] Speaker B: Yeah. There's so many things I know about you that maybe you shouldn't. [00:07:57] Speaker A: Yeah, it's fine. [00:08:00] Speaker B: There's some political things in there. Okay. It is Overlook that. It is my favorite show, in my opinion, that has ever been on television. [00:08:09] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:08:10] Speaker B: Okay. I mean, I can't wait. It should. It should be on every day and go forever. [00:08:15] Speaker C: Yeah. So I'm from Odessa, so Midland and Odessa are, like, 20 miles apart. [00:08:19] Speaker A: Okay. [00:08:19] Speaker C: So they call Dallas Fort Worth the Metroplex. They call Midland, Odessa, the Petroplex. [00:08:24] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:24] Speaker C: Because that's the Permian Basin, the home, like, a lot of the oil field. [00:08:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. He said, I'm going to Dallas, but I'm from Midland. [00:08:31] Speaker A: Yep. [00:08:31] Speaker B: And he's like, you probably never heard of Midland. I was like, people say I have a drinking problem. That's the band Midland. So I have heard of Midland, and based on my videos, I may actually have one. I mean, I don't spill any, so I didn't get that. Yeah. [00:08:43] Speaker A: Yeah, true. So you're from Texas. Are you from Indiana regularly? Okay. How did you two get together? [00:08:50] Speaker D: 1989. [00:08:51] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, there's a story. [00:08:54] Speaker D: We graduated high school. My dad sent me to California. His parents sent him to California. My great aunt lived next door to his grandparents. [00:09:02] Speaker A: Okay. [00:09:03] Speaker D: And my grandma said, don't talk to the Cooper boys. So. [00:09:07] Speaker A: Good. [00:09:07] Speaker D: Wanted to talk to the Cooper boys. And then we've just been like, pen pals. MySpace, Facebook. [00:09:15] Speaker B: Wow. Did your parents not like you guys? Is that why they sent you to California? [00:09:19] Speaker C: No, no, no. [00:09:19] Speaker D: It was so fun back then. [00:09:21] Speaker C: So I was. I was actually born in Huntington Beach, California. I was from there. And so my aunt and uncle, cousins, they all lived there. And so we would go back as kids all the time and stay with my grandparents. And so it was just a normal thing for me. [00:09:36] Speaker B: Huntington beach rocks. I wish all the little homes were still there instead of turning into these giant condos, but it's so cool. [00:09:42] Speaker C: Yep. [00:09:43] Speaker B: You've never been to Huntington Beach? [00:09:45] Speaker A: No, I have not. I've been to California, but not Huntington, [00:09:48] Speaker C: home of the Op Pro. [00:09:49] Speaker B: California's big, you know, to say, like I said, I've been to Evansville, but. [00:09:54] Speaker A: Oh, I know. You say, have I ever been to Huntington Beach? Like, that's a place people just normally go. [00:09:59] Speaker B: People go to Huntington Beach. That's where you surf. It's super cool. It's got one of the best piers in all the LA area. [00:10:05] Speaker C: Rubies used to be on the end, but it's not Ruby. [00:10:07] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, again, like I said, I've been to California just Not there. Where'd you go in la? San Francisco. I've been to Anaheim. The Disney was like six years old probably. So I'm still. [00:10:21] Speaker B: Zero recollection. Still beautiful. [00:10:23] Speaker A: Yeah, I love it. Actually I was in Anaheim for Keller Williams family reunion back when I was with. Did you like it again? It's fine. [00:10:30] Speaker C: Y. [00:10:31] Speaker B: You swing through Riverside? It's nice too. [00:10:34] Speaker D: Okay. [00:10:36] Speaker A: All right. So the IV thing is seemingly taking off. I see them popping up in lots of places. What? I guess. What services do you all do at your location? [00:10:53] Speaker D: Mini. So IVs going to be the biggest service that we offer with the nutrients. Hangover relief for a lot of people, migraine relief and just general wellness. So you come in, you get a liter of fluid and I mean we have you feeling sassy when you're leaving. If you have a hangover or a migraine the other time, it's consistency over time with the vitamins to build up your immune system. [00:11:19] Speaker B: It's not just for us degenerate drunks though. There's like other services besides. [00:11:23] Speaker D: There's a whole other group of people that like to like whoever takes a vitamin would come and see us. [00:11:32] Speaker B: You take vitamins? [00:11:35] Speaker A: No. And that's actually my question. So is this something people do in place of taking every. An everyday multivitamin? Do they do it in addition to. And then I'll have a follow up. [00:11:48] Speaker D: Okay. So with what we offer, yes, we would eventually replace your vitamins at home. But some people are so depleted when they come and see us. They have to do both to get to a place where we have your stores built up to where you feel better. [00:12:03] Speaker C: Because you have to realize that your guts may destroy everything. Right. So when you take those vitamins and those pills, your gut's killing the majority of all that. So you only absorb maybe 20% of that vitamin. So when you get an IV, you're absorbing 99, 100% because we're putting that vitamin, that nutrient directly into your bloodstream. [00:12:26] Speaker A: Okay. That was actually going to be my follow up question. What's the benefit of one over the other? And I will say a reason I don't take multivitamin is because I don't feel any differently over time of taking them. I don't know if what I'm taking them is worth a anyways. And that's kind of one of the things I'm like, if I'm not seeing a benefit from this, why am I keep. Why do I keep swallowing these things that may ultimately even be harming me? I don't need. I don't exactly know what's in. I'm trusting what's on the bottle. Can I get a Centrum direct line into the veins? Do they have their own brand? [00:13:00] Speaker B: That's probably garbage anyway. [00:13:02] Speaker A: Yeah, that's the thing. [00:13:03] Speaker D: So. [00:13:03] Speaker B: Yeah, that's. You're not supposed to buy that. [00:13:06] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:13:06] Speaker B: You're better off doing Flintstone while back. [00:13:09] Speaker D: That says most of the vitamins that you buy at the store are not great. They have a lot of fillers. They don't have what I would imagine. [00:13:16] Speaker A: That's true. Yeah. [00:13:17] Speaker D: So anything you buy, you want to make sure it says GM Peter certification so that you know that it's actually what it is in the box where you're or the bottle that you're buying. But with us, we have 503B pharmacies. All of our vitamins come. Come from a place that everybody can stand behind. 503B is like a gold standard of pharmacy. So we get our vitamins from there. We get our fluids from the same place that the hospital gets their fluids. So what you're getting from us, you know, is good. You know, you're going to feel a difference. [00:13:49] Speaker C: Pharmaceutical grade nutrients. [00:13:51] Speaker D: Yes. [00:13:52] Speaker A: So can I get Flintstone vitamins and IV please? [00:13:58] Speaker D: Kind of funny. It tastes like when we start pushing some of the nutrients, you can have that. [00:14:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I bet. [00:14:04] Speaker D: Literally taste in your mouth. So some people say it tastes like the back end of a Flintstones when we started. Okay. They're like, am I supposed to be tasting with it? [00:14:11] Speaker C: It's a little Fred. [00:14:12] Speaker B: I got a little Fred today. [00:14:13] Speaker A: Bam. [00:14:13] Speaker D: Bam. That's a good thing. [00:14:15] Speaker A: Okay, that's crazy. [00:14:16] Speaker B: So for a person like me that drinks about 3 ounces of water a day, hydration would be good. 1212 ounces of tequila a day and one meal a day. And I don't take vitamins. [00:14:30] Speaker D: Okay. You're probably gonna be pretty depleted. [00:14:33] Speaker B: But I do. Is B12 good for you? [00:14:35] Speaker D: I. That's my favorite. [00:14:37] Speaker B: Okay. Because I drink two sugar free Red Bulls a day and there's a ton. [00:14:40] Speaker D: Okay. [00:14:40] Speaker B: A B12 in there. So I know I'm getting my B12. [00:14:43] Speaker C: But it's cyanocobalamine, probably not methylcobalamin. Interesting thing. Pull that. So everybody sees B12. Cyanocobalamine. I'm getting some nutrients. Right. Well, what's the front of that word? Cyano. It's cut with a red. [00:15:00] Speaker A: It's in the front. [00:15:01] Speaker C: It's a cut with a derivative of cyanide. So the. The version of B12. Yeah, it's the dirty. B12 is what we call it. What we have is methylcobalamine and your body methylates that so it's more readily available for your body to use and [00:15:14] Speaker B: absorb just to support Red Bull. It makes me feel good. [00:15:19] Speaker C: It gives you wings. [00:15:21] Speaker A: That too. [00:15:22] Speaker B: It does wake me up. My wife and I both, two Red Bulls a day. [00:15:24] Speaker A: Okay. [00:15:25] Speaker B: For 20 years. [00:15:26] Speaker C: I used to be monster energy. So I understand. Have you're. [00:15:31] Speaker A: You're very science nerdy just from all the words you just said. [00:15:34] Speaker B: He did say sciency words. [00:15:36] Speaker C: He did. [00:15:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:15:37] Speaker A: And you know, it doesn't sound like no offense to the oil industry. I don't feel like that is something you probably had to know too much about. [00:15:45] Speaker B: Oil is all sciencey. You don't watch Landman, right? [00:15:49] Speaker A: Correct. I don't. Maybe I'm missing it. Have you like found like yourself reading stuff and like I can't believe I'm, I'm learning all of this stuff. [00:16:01] Speaker C: So we have a lot of training that we have to do when you open the franchise. [00:16:05] Speaker A: Okay. [00:16:06] Speaker C: So there's a lot of computer training that you have to do to get caught up and know what the nutrients are. Now granted I remember about this much and the reason I remember that is because I do nad something else that we offer. [00:16:19] Speaker A: Come get it. [00:16:19] Speaker C: Good for your memory, focus, recall. But there's just so much everything that vitamins can do for your body. I'm amazed by the things that she can retain in all of our other nurses. It's. I just sit there and hear them talk and it's. It, it's mind boggling things nutrients do for our bodies. [00:16:37] Speaker A: All right, awesome. [00:16:38] Speaker B: So, so what's this? Is it like a. Do you sign up for like a subscription? Is there like a monthly deal or is it every time you go? Is it daily, weekly? Like when do you do this? [00:16:47] Speaker D: It can be both. When you come into the spa, you'll fill out a health intake form. Everybody fills it out. And then an RN will meet with you and go over the health intake form. At that point we develop your plan of care. So yours is going to be different from yours is going to be different from yours is going to be different from mine. So everybody's different. Most all people could benefit from monthly. Some people need to come more frequently. [00:17:10] Speaker A: And I apologize. Monthly meaning coming once a month. Okay, Making sure. [00:17:14] Speaker B: What else would monthly mean? [00:17:15] Speaker A: Monthly could be you have a monthly subscription and you can come in like once a week with that or twice. [00:17:19] Speaker D: We do have packages that you can buy. We do have memberships that you can buy as well, which are monthly. [00:17:25] Speaker B: So it's like, I really think I need to do this on a regular basis. [00:17:30] Speaker D: Onesie, twosies. [00:17:34] Speaker B: But I can't drive. [00:17:36] Speaker A: I Uber dropped me off. [00:17:38] Speaker C: Get a Tesla and it'll take you. [00:17:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:40] Speaker A: Oh. [00:17:41] Speaker B: You know, that is really revolutionized drunk driving. I don't, I do not have one, sadly. [00:17:46] Speaker A: And I don't pay for the auto drive feature, so. So you mentioned B12, and I would assume there is kind of a all encompassing multivitamin option as opposed to specific B12, D, C, those kind of things. [00:18:03] Speaker D: So everything that we have is in its own individual vial. And There are over 20 vials in our. In our hood. That's something very specific to Prime IV. We have a vent hood and we do 797 compounding, which is kind of cool. I'm really nerdy. It's okay. [00:18:19] Speaker A: Bring it on, nerd. [00:18:20] Speaker D: So when the nurse does the compounding, we go into the hood. 797 means that we can have three nutrients in each mode of delivery. [00:18:29] Speaker B: Okay. [00:18:29] Speaker D: So it's just a very safe way to get your, your iv Very aseptic, very clean, very safe. [00:18:35] Speaker A: Okay. And it's. How long does it take when you're sitting there getting your. [00:18:41] Speaker B: Your IV fluids? [00:18:42] Speaker D: Depends on your veins. He can do an IV in 15 minutes. I'm a 45 minute girl because I have old lady veins. [00:18:49] Speaker A: I would be a while. My wife is like a person, professional blood donor. And okay, she, she can hook that up pretty quick. [00:18:55] Speaker B: I was recently in an er and the guy did this arm and then he's like, these aren't working. So then he had to do this arm, and then he did a whole another spot on my arm. So I don't know that I'd be good for it. [00:19:07] Speaker C: Drink water. [00:19:08] Speaker D: Hey, hey. [00:19:10] Speaker A: What a great idea. [00:19:11] Speaker B: There's water in here. [00:19:13] Speaker C: And so, fun fact. Each IV is 1,100 milliliters of fluid. That's equivalent to drinking two and a half gallons of water. [00:19:21] Speaker B: Should I have to wear a diaper when I get this done? [00:19:23] Speaker C: Some people. Yes. Some people, while they're getting the iv are like, I gotta go to the bathroom. [00:19:30] Speaker B: Not you, though. Not with all that protein. [00:19:35] Speaker A: True statement. [00:19:36] Speaker C: And dripping in 15 minutes. 17 minutes. I mean, it's bam, it's done. I can go to the bathroom normal. But not sitting there for an hour. [00:19:43] Speaker D: And. [00:19:43] Speaker C: And we've had people who've sat for an hour and a half. [00:19:45] Speaker B: Hour and a half. [00:19:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:19:47] Speaker B: Like, how Big is this iv like this. [00:19:49] Speaker C: Veins are that small, so it takes them a lot longer to drip. [00:19:53] Speaker B: Yeah, the dude had a hard time. I mean, I feel like a pin cushion. [00:19:56] Speaker A: That happens in addition to the. No, in addition to the, I'm going to say pain involved even. It's just mental in my head of getting an iv, you know, stuck in my vein. Right. One thing I don't like about IVs, and it's usually at a hospital, is just how cold I feel as it's, [00:20:15] Speaker D: you know, we heat our fluids. [00:20:17] Speaker B: That's the devil leaving your body. [00:20:19] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:20:19] Speaker A: Oh, that's the other side. [00:20:21] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:20:22] Speaker A: Okay. [00:20:23] Speaker D: So we do warm up our fluids. They have to be between a certain temperature and it's much less, I mean, unpleasant is. It's much less unpleasant than getting cold fluids. [00:20:32] Speaker B: So it's more. More body temperatures. Someone pulls out. This one's ready for an hour. Hey, Bertha, we need three more. [00:20:46] Speaker A: You mentioned Prime IV as a franchise. [00:20:49] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:20:49] Speaker A: How big is this company? [00:20:52] Speaker C: Last? Last. I remember them saying there were 209 locations across the United States. [00:20:58] Speaker B: Wow. [00:20:58] Speaker C: There may be more now because I know there's a lot of people in the pipeline that are coming in to get it because we've, if you look in like the top entrepreneurs and top companies, we've been number one in the IV hydration class in the United States. So, I mean, Prime IV is excelling and doing a lot of things right in the way we get our nutrients and the type of nutrients we get. It sets us apart from a lot of other places that actually do IVs. [00:21:24] Speaker B: Yeah. Joking aside, I know a lot of people that actually do this and also met a lot of athletes. Yep. Oh, yeah. This is a big deal. The mountain biking guys that I knew, some of the motocross guys that we know in Supercross, they, they have done this for many, many years. It's like, do it. You'd go to Supercross and go back to the, to the racing trailer and they're hooked up and they're. And they're hooked up. They're not allowed to do it until after the last moto. You can't do it in between races anymore. You used to be able to. Because if you think of running a 35 minute motocross race in 100 degree heat and then you gotta do another one in 45 minutes. [00:21:57] Speaker C: You need those. [00:21:57] Speaker B: Hydration is incredible. So now they have to wait till after the last moto. But I've known people who've done this for many, many years. [00:22:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:03] Speaker B: I've Never tried it myself, but I probably should. I probably should be hydrated once or twice a year. [00:22:09] Speaker D: Brought you guys two tries if you'd like to come see us. Two free drips. Yep. Of any drip you want. [00:22:16] Speaker A: So again, I don't know. [00:22:17] Speaker B: No way saying any drip I want. Can I. Can I bring you fluid? [00:22:23] Speaker A: Got that. [00:22:24] Speaker C: Tequila. [00:22:24] Speaker B: I'd like a portalez flav. [00:22:29] Speaker A: So, Julie, you are a nurse. I'm gonna say were, but you are a nurse at your facility. How many other professional nurses or medical people are there right now? [00:22:39] Speaker D: We have 10 others besides me. [00:22:41] Speaker A: Dang. [00:22:41] Speaker B: Wow, that's a big setup. [00:22:43] Speaker A: Is that common in these locations? [00:22:46] Speaker D: Probably, yeah. You have to run two. Two a day. [00:22:49] Speaker A: Okay. [00:22:49] Speaker D: And so we have one other full time person besides myself that is a nurse. And so it's me and her. And then we have, you know, basically nurses that work other jobs, but then pop into our spa to work shifts from now and again as well. [00:23:03] Speaker A: Cool. [00:23:04] Speaker B: How about that? [00:23:05] Speaker A: You said you're in Greenwood? I'm pretty sure I know where it's located. But for the folks who don't know. Where are you located? [00:23:11] Speaker C: We're located at the corner of Smith Valley Road and 135. I think everybody kind of knows where the. The most busiest UPS store in the world is. [00:23:20] Speaker B: Not. Not to mention an intersection that is so easy to get to there today. [00:23:27] Speaker A: Yeah, it's funny you. You mentioned that UPS store because I've been there like once or twice, but that is not what I think of when I come to that location. Hot box pizza. [00:23:36] Speaker C: Oh, hot box pizza. [00:23:38] Speaker A: Love me some hot box breadsticks. [00:23:40] Speaker C: Nothing but good. [00:23:41] Speaker B: You know what I think of when [00:23:42] Speaker A: I come to the intersection? [00:23:44] Speaker B: 5 tries to get through the light. That's what I think of. Seriously. [00:23:49] Speaker A: The stoplight there is brutal. Yes. Yes, it is. Four cars. Four cars for real. It is absolute worst. [00:23:56] Speaker C: But I can. I'll give our address. [00:23:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:23:59] Speaker C: 704 South State Road. 135 Sweet C. Greenwood, Indiana, 46143. [00:24:06] Speaker B: Which are you on the Mexican restaurant side or the guitar? The guitar music store. [00:24:10] Speaker C: Mexican restaurant side. [00:24:11] Speaker B: We're. [00:24:12] Speaker C: We're literally tacos and brews. Right across is UPS store. We're in between Qdoba and the UPS store facing Smith Valley Road. [00:24:20] Speaker B: I know exactly where you are. [00:24:21] Speaker A: Yeah, fabulous. Okay. I get allergy shots monthly. That's not really relevant to this, but it's gonna. So when I go there, they used to. They don't do this anymore. They used to make me sit around there for a half an Hour after I got my injections to make sure I wasn't having a heart attack. They have thus loosened that over the years. And now I'm supposed to carry an epitan, though I've never had any adverse reaction, so I have not filled that prescription. [00:24:50] Speaker B: Sorry, Dr. Patterson. [00:24:52] Speaker A: My point being, if somebody were to come in there and have some sort of an adverse reaction, obviously you're a nurse. Do you have, though, AED device kind of thing on hand and, you know, a quick medical response if necessary? [00:25:08] Speaker D: Yeah, we absolutely do. We employ RNs so we know how to respond in that situation. We have EPI in the facility, we have Benadryl in the facility. We have an aed and we have very quick response to first responders. When we call 91 1, they are there. [00:25:24] Speaker A: Cool. Very helpful. [00:25:26] Speaker D: Not that we do that very often. [00:25:27] Speaker A: Yeah, of course not. [00:25:28] Speaker D: Some people pass out when they get stuck and that happens. [00:25:31] Speaker B: Do they really? Just. Just from the pin. Just from the. [00:25:33] Speaker D: Yep, yep, yep. [00:25:35] Speaker B: I bet that's when they're out and you're waiting on the ambulance. Do you just smack like this? [00:25:39] Speaker D: No, absolutely. [00:25:42] Speaker B: Wake up. I would really. [00:25:45] Speaker A: The funny thing is, after they pass out, they give them an IV to wake them up. [00:25:48] Speaker C: Ice. [00:25:49] Speaker D: Bs. [00:25:50] Speaker A: You're fine. We got that in there while you were asleep. [00:25:52] Speaker B: Wow. I mean, if you knew that you passed out from. From shots. I almost choked to death for some reason as you were talking about this. If, like, why would you go like, if, you know, you're scared to death? Well, yeah, but it's. It's probably important for me to go to the dentist, but it's terrifying. So I don't. [00:26:10] Speaker C: Right. [00:26:10] Speaker B: Like, I already know. [00:26:11] Speaker D: Yeah. And some people just tell us. And then we have two nurses in the room in case something happens. We can. Most of the time, we talk them through it, put an ice pack on their chest, and they're like, sometimes I get lightheaded when I get my. My iv, so I just have to wait it out. [00:26:26] Speaker B: I would have been a really good heroin addict because I have no problem. Yeah. One time when I was a little kid, I had to do the. Get my blood drawn to see if I had sugar problems. Right. If I had the sugar. [00:26:38] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:26:38] Speaker B: So back in the day, they made you eat a pancake breakfast. Right. You guys are the same age. And then after you ate the pancake breakfast, you'd go get this blood drawn. They took me to the Wabash Hospital. It's been like the third time I've done this. I was about 14 years old. The lady brought the. The syringe, and she brought the two, you know, little things you put in there. And then she left. And I was like, what the heck? So she comes back, and there was blood all over everything. Both of those were full. The thing was hanging out of my arm, and I was like, you took too long. I did it myself. Wow. When I pulled the one out, and then it just kept coming out to put the other one in. And then when that one was full, I pulled it out, and then it just. Just kept going, bleeding. And that's when she walked in. 14. [00:27:25] Speaker D: You missed your calling. Maybe you should have been a nurse. [00:27:28] Speaker B: Yeah, well, it's the side of my blood's okay. But others, like I always said I couldn't be a doctor because I can't stand the side of lawyers. And I couldn't be a lawyer because I can't stand the side of blood. [00:27:39] Speaker A: That's excellent. [00:27:40] Speaker B: That's a good one. [00:27:42] Speaker A: Besides rns, do you have phlebotomists that work there too? No. Well, I learned the word because my daughter had considered doing that in college and chose not to. [00:27:55] Speaker B: So is that the study of phlebotomy? [00:27:58] Speaker A: It's those who do IVs. There you go. Boom. [00:28:04] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, I knew that. I knew the name. [00:28:06] Speaker A: We're teaching people stuff here on this. [00:28:07] Speaker B: Oh, this is nothing but a safe for children educational facility. [00:28:15] Speaker A: After someone is done getting their fluids. Or do you make them hang out, make sure they're okay, or do they hop up and drive away? [00:28:22] Speaker D: We have certain things that, like if you get an NAD shot, you would have to sit still for a little bit. [00:28:28] Speaker B: What's an NAD shot? [00:28:29] Speaker C: Oh, that's. [00:28:32] Speaker A: Wait, wait, no. What? [00:28:34] Speaker D: Well, it worked this long. [00:28:35] Speaker C: Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. So it's a coenzyme in everybody's body. And it's basically at the end of your DNA strand. We have these things called telomeres. And the. [00:28:48] Speaker A: You have learned, Scott. This is. [00:28:50] Speaker C: Oh, it's mind boggling. So, yeah, as you get older, the telomeres shrink. And so when I feel that. Yeah, me too, brother. [00:28:59] Speaker B: I'm telling you, I just tell people. I just tell people I'm cold. [00:29:04] Speaker C: But nad keeps it from shrinking, helps it grow. Okay. Helps with memory, focus, recall. [00:29:10] Speaker A: Huh? [00:29:10] Speaker B: Yeah. The first part of that sounded like something that's in a cigarette, so I was really wondering where you were gonna go with that. [00:29:15] Speaker D: But back to nad, so it supplies energy to all cells. [00:29:20] Speaker A: Cool. [00:29:21] Speaker D: So when you give that shot, some people get, like, a little jittery. And we have to watch them for just a little bit of time. [00:29:28] Speaker B: What other services besides the IV and this like, sounds like a little speed shot that you're giving. [00:29:34] Speaker D: So, I mean, you can come in and get a vitamin D shot. Everybody's vitamin D levels low this time of year because there's no sunshine. B12 shots. We can give injections of most of our infusions as well. But you know, if some people can't tolerate the fluids because of heart history, kidney history. [00:29:51] Speaker B: So if you want that, you have to lie on that. That pamphlet. [00:29:55] Speaker D: Absolutely not. [00:29:56] Speaker A: No, it not occurs at. [00:29:59] Speaker D: I'm just saying it has been tried, but with our screening process, I mean, if you're coming in when your ankles are this big, you can't have fluids. [00:30:08] Speaker A: No, you can have that. [00:30:10] Speaker B: So people's ankles get big. [00:30:12] Speaker A: They do. I will say when prior to Alex Quinlan being born, the day before Stephanie went to the doctor for a regular checkup. [00:30:21] Speaker B: They told you she was swollen like a blueberry. Well, yeah, but that's a pregnant person, [00:30:28] Speaker A: like you said can. [00:30:29] Speaker D: That's more abundance of flu. [00:30:30] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what it is. [00:30:32] Speaker B: Okay. [00:30:32] Speaker D: Yeah. And we can treat pregnant people, but up to 27 weeks. [00:30:35] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:30:36] Speaker D: Much fluid. [00:30:38] Speaker A: Is there any type of medical that you do? Like, I mean, drugs, to be honest. [00:30:44] Speaker D: Chordol and Zofran. [00:30:45] Speaker A: Okay. [00:30:45] Speaker B: Okay. That sounds awesome. [00:30:48] Speaker A: That sounds like a party used for Tordols. [00:30:52] Speaker D: For pain. [00:30:53] Speaker A: Okay. [00:30:53] Speaker D: Hangover. [00:30:54] Speaker C: The resurrection. [00:30:55] Speaker D: Yeah, the resurrection has both of them. And Zofrans for if you're sick to your stomach. It's an anti medic. Yeah. [00:31:02] Speaker A: Okay, so if I'm excessively vomiting, I just need to call you and come over to your house. You guys, do you have this stuff at your house in case I need to come by? Yeah. [00:31:10] Speaker D: We're so calm. [00:31:11] Speaker B: That was actually going to be one of my. One of my questions. Do you do any in home visits? [00:31:15] Speaker D: We don't. [00:31:15] Speaker B: No. [00:31:15] Speaker D: There. We have such. Our safety standards don't permit us to take it on the road. [00:31:21] Speaker B: Gotcha. [00:31:22] Speaker D: We can do an injection clinic. So we could give you a B12 shot at a specific location, but it would be very hard to take the fluids with the. [00:31:31] Speaker A: It would be just an injection, though. It wouldn't be like an IV thing, right? [00:31:34] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Gotcha. [00:31:35] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:31:35] Speaker B: Because, you know, like, the hangover thing would be much better at home. [00:31:41] Speaker A: Like, you got to work for it, though. [00:31:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I guess you would. If you really want, I'm here. I feel like crap. I got two DUIs on the way here, but I need that IV. [00:31:51] Speaker D: Those homes are different, right? Clean means most are gross to different people. [00:31:56] Speaker B: Yeah, most are gross. Absolutely. [00:31:57] Speaker D: So how are you going to safely. [00:32:00] Speaker B: Hey, that's okay. [00:32:01] Speaker A: The. [00:32:01] Speaker B: The little goat and the pig are fine in the house. Yeah, they go in the cat litter box. [00:32:08] Speaker C: Exactly. [00:32:10] Speaker B: People are gross. [00:32:11] Speaker A: So how long has your place been around? [00:32:13] Speaker D: 2 and a half years. [00:32:13] Speaker A: Okay. I thought it had been a while. [00:32:15] Speaker D: Yep. [00:32:15] Speaker A: Is there any consideration for doing more? [00:32:18] Speaker D: So one just opened in Carmel. [00:32:20] Speaker A: Okay. [00:32:21] Speaker D: There's one in Zionsville. [00:32:22] Speaker B: This is your guys. [00:32:22] Speaker C: They're not. [00:32:24] Speaker D: Right. Our friends Jeff and Carrie own those two up north, and they're opening a third one somewhere up north. [00:32:30] Speaker B: I see the caramel one getting Botox really quickly. [00:32:33] Speaker D: The what? [00:32:33] Speaker B: The caramel one's getting some Botox in there. I just know it is. [00:32:37] Speaker A: I feel like I need to introduce you to the Total Wine people because there's a location connected to the Total Wine building that's vacant, and I feel like that's a perfect location for one of your joints. [00:32:49] Speaker B: You know what? [00:32:50] Speaker A: Maybe I'm going to franchise that thing because that seems like an ideal location. [00:32:54] Speaker B: You know, you might put one next to pts up the road. [00:32:56] Speaker A: Yes, that's a good spot as well. [00:32:58] Speaker B: Open at like 3am Exactly. [00:33:00] Speaker A: The hours are different at that location. I don't know why. [00:33:04] Speaker B: Your wife will have no idea you were here. [00:33:06] Speaker D: Well, they're all over Vegas and. [00:33:09] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:33:10] Speaker B: I mean, it's been around a long time. It's not a new thing. I. I said I have a friend that's a nurse practitioner in. Out in Scottsdale, and they have that service they do in home service, though. [00:33:18] Speaker C: They. [00:33:19] Speaker B: They come to your house, but they do all kinds of service. Botox and all that stuff. [00:33:24] Speaker A: Not, I guess, vaguely connected. Speaking of Vegas, like, I've walked through the Vegas airport and they've got the oxygen bars. Is there any real science to that? It seems like when we give you [00:33:36] Speaker D: your iv, you do get oxygen. [00:33:38] Speaker A: Oh, okay. Well, they're not at the oxygen bar. [00:33:40] Speaker D: Right. It's just a bump for your immune system again. [00:33:43] Speaker B: Does it help my allergies at all? [00:33:44] Speaker D: Vitamin C would help your allergies considerably. [00:33:47] Speaker B: I have tried, like, this mass, massive amount of vitamin C, and I'm like, [00:33:52] Speaker A: but have you injected it into the veins directly? [00:33:55] Speaker B: No, I have. I've never mainlined it. There it is. [00:33:57] Speaker A: Now's the time. I mean, you know what? You have a card over there for a free visit. There it is. [00:34:02] Speaker B: I take Allegra Zertac, Claritin, singular, and all in one Day in the morning. [00:34:11] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh. [00:34:12] Speaker B: Mucinex and Sudafed. [00:34:14] Speaker A: Every morning, I feel like they're fighting each other. [00:34:18] Speaker B: Well, I feel like I'm sending down the tunnel of the field going. [00:34:22] Speaker C: I was g. To say, are you sleeping? [00:34:24] Speaker B: Like, no, I do about four hours a day. [00:34:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:34:28] Speaker D: And that was not me at all. [00:34:30] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I've been. I've done that for. I, I. I fall asleep as soon as I lay down, and four hours later, I'm awake. And then a lot of times just go, ah, let's go to my desk and get to work. [00:34:40] Speaker A: Okay. The. You've given the location. What are the hours of service? [00:34:46] Speaker D: That depends on the day. Because we want to hit everybody who needs to come see us. Mondays And Wednesdays, it's 10 to 4. Tuesday, 11. 10 to 6. Sorry. Tuesday, 11 to 7. Friday and Saturday, 10 to 4. [00:35:01] Speaker B: All I'm gonna say, these IVs are working to 4. These IVs are working. Because I would never correct my wife like that. [00:35:12] Speaker D: Keep him in line. [00:35:13] Speaker A: You know, there are different parts of the business. You guys know that the others may [00:35:17] Speaker B: not be, as I tend to say, whack. There's getting more vitamin D. [00:35:27] Speaker A: Any other questions for the Coopers? [00:35:31] Speaker B: Nope. [00:35:31] Speaker A: I've exhausted my question. Yeah, I've learned. [00:35:33] Speaker B: This is good. This is a ton. Yeah. [00:35:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:35] Speaker B: This is great. Interesting. Pretty cool. So next time you're hammered, next time you're. You're not taking my advice and not drinking great tequila and you feel like garbage. You need to look these people up because they're going to make you feel better. [00:35:46] Speaker A: It's a great idea. [00:35:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:35:48] Speaker A: So on the south side, you don't have to live there, but if you're in the area, go check out Prime IV in Greenwood on smith Valley Road 135 in the heart of Center Grove where the traffic sucks. [00:35:59] Speaker B: Are they allowed to just lay down while they get there? [00:36:03] Speaker D: Do it while you're actively intoxicated? [00:36:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Well, yeah, but there's a point of [00:36:08] Speaker B: it's almost done, and it feels really bad. [00:36:12] Speaker A: I swear I'm sober. [00:36:13] Speaker C: Look, just hit me. [00:36:15] Speaker B: Like, for the big drinkers, can they just come in and go, I need some vodka in here. I brought my own. Restart my Tuesday. All right. No. The answer is that this is solid. [00:36:27] Speaker C: No answer. [00:36:28] Speaker A: No. All right, well, thank you for watching Indiana Success Happy Hour. We'll see you next time. [00:36:33] Speaker C: Cheers. [00:36:34] Speaker B: Thanks for coming on, guys. [00:36:35] Speaker A: That was awesome. [00:36:35] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:36:36] Speaker B: Cheers. It's Brian and Brad. Grab your seat. [00:36:41] Speaker A: Real talk served with boozy. Be tune in don't even blink cuz real estate makes us dream.
